    No, just the source. That's also what id did when they GPL'd Doom -- just the executable stuff, not the actual game data.

    ZDoom and GZDoom certainly do, and they also support Strife and IIRC even Chex Quest.

    It can be configured to not lie, but unless the default has changed since I messed with Opera last, it will default to claiming it's IE.

    More like declare spammers outlaws. Since they would be outside the law, the law would have no problem with vigilante justice applied to spammers, as long as it doesn't harm or inconvenience bystanders.

    Some of that's been addressed in Vista. The "my" plague's gone away, for example, and user directories now live in C:\Users.

    As far as I know your criticisms of the Registry still stand. I imagine the Registry's stuck around for this long for two main reasons: inertia, and for large amounts of data, the Registry's data structure is more efficient than flat text files.
