Ideas for a Coco4 have been tossed around repeatedly over the last several years but no one has ever stepped up to the plate to make it happen. It doesn't help any that there were a variety of hardware vendors all in the dying days of Tandy's involvement (early 90s) all claiming to have the Coco 4.... but most of those machines were not 8 bitters... rather Motorola 68K OS-9 (OS-K) based machines. In my opinion not the true spirit of the coco.
There is a "Superboard" planned for the coco... check out: http://www.cloud9tech.com/ In my opinion this is as close as we'll ever get to a Coco 4.

Actually... the reason these technologies are so popular is because they DO have a reasonable chance of meaning something in 5-10 years.
It depends what the problem here actually is. JBoss originally claimed that it could not afford the J2EE certification cost that Sun quoted them... now they are saying that Sun won't certify them at any cost??? Its imposible to get a straight answer... certainly they (JBoss) can't expect something for nothing, if that's the case.
It was an early 80's Saturday Morning thing. I don't remember too much about it - except I seem to recall that "Jason" was being chased by beautiful women from starship to starship. Sigh... life hasn't turned out the way I hoped.
...somehow he managed to smoke those huge cigars in that tiny cockpit. MY HERO. Why I have to go out into the garage if I want to smoke a cigar - any smaller, less airy space will leave me gagging. Women didn't seem to mind the smell on him either.
Does anyone still listen to shortwave radio? I got one as a christmas gift and haven't had much time to play with it yet. With the advent of online sound streams, I imagine SW is starting to fall by the wayside?
Why doesn't this company just move its office across the border and start in Canada? I'm assuming the contract would not be enforceable... does anyone know more about the feasability of this idea. Even if its for only 2 years or whatever.
can you clarify why you mentioned 2010? I'm not sure what you're referring to.

>Wait until Xbox has been out for as long as PS2 has been
At which point the PS2 will have been out that much longer again.

I don't see a reference to a pool class anywhere - just a variable named pool - who knows what class.
haha - well they just announced JBuilder 6 :)
... Forte.
Try www.netbeans.org for an open source java IDE... its sponsored by Sun, and forms the base code for Sun's own commercial offering
OK - I'd like to ask an obvious question... if things are so bad for job hunters right now, what was the need for a job fair?
macs are based on a RISC instruction set therefore more likely that it will take the Mac 3 instructions where the PC would take 1
are you referring to OS X or OS9 here?
No - there are plenty of clones in the second movie.

or maybe just in your neck of the woods
People give mixed reviews to Farscape... but I love it. I catch it on the scifi channel... Impressive effects if you ask me and I love the aliens
The ABC article says the golf will include a MINI COMPUTER. I'm hoping for one of the DEC PDP machines myself - you could hack while driving.
I've been handed a copy of the DL source code. Surprise, surprise... its written in BASIC
10 IF JOYSTICK=UP THEN GOTO 100
20 IF JOYSTICK=DOWN THEN GOTO 200
100 REM show screen "insert coin"
200 REM play video segment A
I hated the gane too - way too restrictive. I agree - by today's standards it would be called an interactive video.
I think what the article means is that we don't see the planets slowing down and moving closer into the Sun.
Lets not forget - the really revolutionary stuff in the Lisa/Mac came from Xerox anyway.

The point of view in this article doesn't strike you disctinctly leftist?
North America? South America? Europe? I don't think so.
