However I beg to differ with you about banning any device that is not working properly. If you have a monitoring device that you have bought with good tax payers money the device should work properly and NYC should go after the manufacture to make sure these monitoring devices are working properly with any extra expense to the NYC, DHS or any other organization. Like any good monitoring device there is a certification organizations like the National Bureau of Standard that can check and certify the equipment is up to standard.

I don't think technology will help in this matter of getting more people through the lines. More parallel security lines is the best solution for this since like the freeway more freeway lanes will increase the amount the traffic as long all of the people are moving. Technology will assist in getting more accurate results from searches.

The main thing is my office was just above the the data center so that is how they routed UPS power and AC (chilled water system lines) to the rack area. It was very quiet enough that most people never knew that big cabinet was a server and network rack. You should use a remote KVM switch to manage the servers without opening the cabinet except to insert CD and the like.
It is hard to gauge the crossbow bolt's energy and velocity from just the video. However that does appear to be an "weak" crossbow and it is pity they didn't have a ballistic meter to measure the energy and velocity of the bolt. There was pool to see how far it would fly and the proceeds went to Red Cross.
