  1. Kane&Lynch on Two 360 Titles Lose Their Exclusivity · · Score: 1

K&L is not a 'stealth' shooter. It is a shooter alright, but with more gameplay in common with IO Interactive's Freedom Fighters than the Hitman series.

Exactly - the developer of Tetris made a game concept that was good enough to get a proper publishing deal...

There is a reason for most indies not being picked up by publishers - they suck...

  3. Re:Multi-Proc on Comparing PC Game Physics · · Score: 1

Looking at the market, you see that the publishers and, in turn, developers in general make their money on consoles.

That said, Xbox360 and PS3 being multi-cpu you will see gamecode optimized for multiple threads and I suspect that this will spill over to secondary platforms like the PC (and maybe even Macs).

Surely depends on where you are in the world.
Here the law states that if you cannot work within your field due to a non-compete clause the company laying you off has to pay you until it expires or you get another job outside the scope of the clause.

This has effectively made it so companies thinks twice before asking people to sign these.

Yeah yeah, I know unions are evil and bureaucratic, but this law is something they got through here......

It seems that phones that can do what is wanted already exist - the Sony Ericsson W800 is a better iTunes phone than the iTunes phone. Just observing that model's sales would have saved Apple a lot of money.

I think one of the main issues with LED lights is the incompatibility with existing lamps.

Sure you buy new lamps every once in a while, but a real breakthrough will come when you can get LED 'bulbs' that fit in a normal 220/110V socket on a normal lamp.

The same thing happened with those energy-saving bulbs, it seems they only really took off (at least here in Denmark where electricity is expensive) when they became available in versions that looked like normal bulbs and fit most lamps.

Another example is the wire spot halogen lights, once they became available in 220/110V versions they took off. Nobody seemed to want those bulky 220->12V transformers around.
