Where did you get the idea that Apple wants to be a part of the community? I thought the bulk of their selling point was that everything "just works." Sometimes, that means saying "suck it" to Flash. Sometimes that means building a walled garden and ignoring the people who just want to replace a battery. In this particular instance, I don't have a problem with removing an item from THEIR store that is just there to serve their COMPETITOR. From here, it sounds like whining that a Chevy dealership removed all the Ford pamphlets that someone left on the front desk (best car analogy I had). I'm not an Apple fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but I honestly don't get why people think this is wrong.
Caveat to that: If your local internet provider is also your TV provider, then yes. They might very well have a vested interest in restricting your net TV viewing.
If you're looking for an amusing Steam alternative, I'd recommend Torchlight, although multiplayer won't be available until the next game (which is due out in early 2011). I'm really interested to see how they implement it.
Personally, I'll probably still buy Diablo III. I'd like to know where the story goes.
I would expect them to implement something like WoW's drop system. Need/greed. Sadly, that only works for honest players. Personally, I like the Guild Wars system. Drops are auto-assigned and you can buy/sell if you feel the need. Of course, it's not as driven by items as WoW/Diablo.
I don't understand how this gets screwed up every time an actual story about Nazi Germany comes up. Godwin's Law only says that there will be a comparison to Hitler, not merely that he be mentioned.
It's beyond that, though. He just blurred his face. This is removing the entire person. In that world, he goes from being anonymous to being invisible.
Why not just let the dude pay the back fees (up to 5 years worth)? $4500 is adequate punishment for not paying and the dude would still have his house. Even better, just make him sign up for the coverage and if he breaks it in 5 years, make him pay the fee.
This makes me want to create programming at ridiculously low levels. People will turn up their TV's, and the commercials won't get out of line. Then, when they change channels, THAT'S when they get the blaring. Next step: all channels must have the same average volume.
I got the idea from NPR in Georgia. This happens ALL THE TIME in my car.:/
Would you believe I was thinking of this when I posted? Since I've clearly already posted, all I can really do is say kudos for doing the legwork.
Sony has established itself as the kind of company who would happily put a spycamera in everyone's home
So THAT's what the PlayStation Eye is for!
You're from Mos Eisley?
Why would they assume I already have access to a computer and internet service?
I'd never heard of the meme and apologize for the apparent unoriginality. I'd say I should get out more, but that might be my problem...
but
I wish I could mod tags. That "bubble" needs a +5 Insightful.
This has nothing to do with Ab Fab!

I'm confused. Are we talking about midwest earthquakes or terrorist plots?
Nope, still the present. Well, it was. Now it's the past. Stupid entropy.
I suggest investing in a pair of thermal socks, especially if you're female. I would suggest brautwursts, but that's just too messy.
I found the headline misleading. Georgia College is not doing this. North Georgia College isn't doing this. South Georgia College isn't doing this. East Georgia College isn't doing this. Not even Middle Georgia College is doing this. I'm just saying, if you're going to capitalize Georgia College, make sure that's actually in the name.

How is HP not guilty of obstruction of justice?
Like I really need to say it, but here it is anyway: IANAL.
Strange, I thought this was a bit more applicable.

And you're clearly anti-Semantic.

Fine, one of the first ones against the wall. Along with The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation.
That when the revolution does come, Mark Zuckerburg is the first against the wall.
