  1. How is this going to affect The Hubble? on Hubble Repair Mission At Risk · · Score: 1

I mean 2 objects collided in a 400Km orbit the Hubble orbits at 750km any debris will not have picked up enough velocity to get anywhere near the Hubble. The only danger to the space shuttle is going up there and coming back. Bearing in mind the impact resulted in 2 clouds of debris both of which have the same basic orbital dynamics as the original satelites i.e. we know where they are so fly the f*** around them

Obviously you can't but you can attract them once you have enough bits slow down enough that they will re-enter in a couple of years, ditch them and speed up again. The only problem is the amount of fuel it would take to do this a few times.

Actually I think you will find that most military/Navies use Kilometers on Land and Nautical Miles at see as one is easier for calculating range/trajectories and the other is derived from the global coordinates system to start off with.

I'd be more interested to know how many launch pads they have as bearing in mind all the scare mongering during the cold war the Ussr never had more than 5 ICBM's ready to go at any one time. Oh they had plenty of them but they only had 5 launch pads and the R16 takes over 90 minutes to prep for launch.

Punish them for what? Is it illegal to keep names and information of unclassified material on your personal computer /mp3 players? At worst, it's FOUO (for official use only) information. While it could reflect on your performance evaluation negatively, there is nothing illegal about the release of FOUO information.

If it contains the names & details of armed forces personnel it could very well be defined as a national security breach. The fact it contains a mission briefing & details of equipment would pretty much seal that one.
