Most of the time, when someone says they're having trouble scaling their database, it's a case of a developer that has an incorrectly configured database. Installing MySQL is easy, but configuring it is VERY difficult. That's why you need a person with very specialized knowledge to properly configure a database for efficiency or throughput or whatever you're going for in your specific case.
It would be like saying that anyone can go to a hardware store, buy some lumber, and nail them together to create a rudimentary shelter, but if you want a *house*, something that will weather the elements and keep you warm and comfortable and secure, you need to hire a professional carpenter.
"I can only imagine that after the U.S. leaves (and other countries will probably follow, soon), Iraq is going to be the center of out-of-control violence like the only thing we've ever seen there for the past 50+ years."
Actually, that's the issue. Google hasn't *officially* released 2.2 Froyo yet in OTA form (for the Nexus One which I have, the OTA is coming directly from Google), or as source code.
They *HAVE* released the 2.2 SDK, but that's for developing apps, which is separate from the OS itself.
Technically, yes, an individual could grab the unofficially released source and compile it for themselves. In reality, most people use a specific distro...In my case, I use CyanogenMod, which has announced that it will not start hacking on Froyo code until there's an official source release.
Gameplay-wise, it's not a bad game, but from a technical standpoint, it's a train-wreck (the PC version at least).
The memory usage is off the charts, even leaving Left 4 Dead in the dust, and L4D *loves* memory and cpu.
And the multiplayer is a joke. There is no anti-cheating system in place, and no dedicated server is available, so one of the players must host the server. Worse yet, once a round ends, the hosting player must re-launch it every time, so you can't just set it up and walk away.
Thats part of the point of TrueCrypt. Hidden encrypted partitions == plausible deniability.
Looks like TrueCrypt is going to need to put out Android and iOS versions soon O.o
That's a shame. Aside from the original movie, it's the only stargate-related storyline that was even good.
Though who knows how bad the TSA will be about mass relay travel...

Or you could always just cut off the part covering the *pads* of the fingers, rather than expose the entire finger.
Ah...my mistake

That's great and all, Adobe, but we're all still waiting for Froyo to be released...as an official OTA, or as an official source release :(
Solving the problem...

Care to be a bit more specific than that?
FTA: "I Am Legend script writer Mark Protosevich is currently chatting to the producers about bringing his talents to the project"
That is not a good sign...
Personally, I'd prefer someone who can act.
Apple, you can't bring that weak ass stuff up in this humpy bumpy! And you know this, baby! WOOOO!
shit, forgot to add </sarcasm>
We're a bunch of angry nerds, we just need to organize and DDOS Square-Enix into oblivion.
...Great! Another small minority making my entire state look like backwater hicks!
And we were just beginning to recover from being blamed for Dubya.
"I see," said the blind man as he pissed into the wind. "It's all coming back to me."

Well, a server naming scheme can serve hundreds reliably if its tightly controlled and well thought-out, with a limited number of servers.
If you have hundreds of servers, or clients are also incorporated into the same naming scheme, then yes, chaos will ensue.
Well, my home network takes its names from the solar system.
My router is Sol, and my desktop is Earth. My laptop, which is quad-boot, is respectively Mars (XP), Ares (Vista), Phobos (Osx86), Deimos (Ubuntu).
I figure if I ever add another subnet, I can choose a neighboring solar system.
Though there isn't much on that site, they also have a Google Group for open discussions. I for one will be looking into contributing to them...
According to their checkout process, it IS in Australian currency. So it comes out to just under $300 USD, including international shipping.
Dammit, now I want one. I wonder if the battery life is any better than the G1?
