    Up-to-date information (01/21/2002):
Here is some minimum data. It leaves out most certifications and all the details only available from Oracle, and only gives the latest ones (data taken from the Oracle Metalink website):

    Apps 11i: SuSE Linux 7.0

Oracle 8i: SuSE Linux 7.2, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7

Oracle 9i: SuSE Linux 7.2, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7

    iAS 9i : SuSE Linux 7.2

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 and the (near) future:
All upcoming new Oracle releases will be certified for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server at the release date - because Oracle has switched the development/testing platform from SuSE Linux 7.0 (Apps 11i), 7.1 (9i), 7.2 (iAS 9i) to SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7. So Oracle 9i R2 (9.2), iAS 9i 2.0, Apps 11i 11.5.6 (eBusiness Suite) will all be SuSE Linux Enterprise Server certified!

I was just thinking about that and here is what i came up with :
linux installs fine on a fat32
If you already have windows installed on it then you would not need to copy all the nedded dll's for the aplications.
That would allow them to sell a "magic" cd tath would turn a dell/compaq/ect oem install into a 'linux install' and all you would have to do is boot from the cd,
their install program would then have all the windows dll's needed to run win aplications perform some linking with /home/user to /document and settings/user and make kde look like their trusted windows desktop.
And best of all no reformating needed so no need to backup data or anything
Ofcours for that to work good they would need good NTFS support in the kernel

    just my 0.2 euro :)

Thats why you would need a few central trusted server with MD5 checksums for all the patches. (and make the checksum automatic, maybe even without an override function)
That way you get the patch from the P2P network the MD5 from one of the central trusted servers and bobs your uncle. and i would even guess that distros could save some nice money on bandwith.

So you see there are always parts in free software that could benifit from some non free involvment. because wheter we like it or not we cant just abolish all IP (IMHO)
