    3. My original post was going to address OpenBSD desktops, but I decided not to. Using OpenBSD as a desktop is sort of like using a weed whacker to mow your lawn, then saying "Weed whackers do just fine in any other role!

I'm typing this on an OpenBSD desktop at my workplace. I run the Linux Citrix client for access to a machine in another city whereas some of our Linux machines can't because of incompatibilities.
Truthfully, most of the "features" that OpenBSD lack when compared to Linux are not as big as the "features" Linux lacks when compared to Windows. In fact.. I can't think of one reason that I'd have to downgrade to Linux after all these years of being a happy FreeBSD and OpenBSD user.

And then they ship sendmail and BIND with it.

The BIND that comes with OpenBSD is an audited V 4.x IIRC. That should suffice for many many users, those that need 8.x or 9.x can find it them the ports tree. The sendmail is locked down as well and doesn't accept connections by default.

    Nice FUD otherwise.

I agree on both points and in a perfect world your wishes would be reality. I dislike having to pay for caller ID but without it my BelTronics call blocker won't work. It can reject up to 100 phone numbes and private callers as well as supplying standard CID info. A nice digitized voice tells the caller to go away (well, it's longer than that obviously :))
