I'm sure there will be an offline-playable version within days, just like SC2, and i'll play it offline without stupid DRM, just like i did SC2.
D3 was one of the games i expected to buy the moment it comes out, but this limitation (and RMT crap too) is a total deal breaker for me.
That's just fucking crazy, god i'm happy that i live in a sane country.
Over here we pay something like 40$ for "healthcare tax" monthly from your salary - it covers pretty much everything that you ever going to need, if you wan't to be real safe add 20$ for the "extended insurance" that covers even more.
My father had a hearth attack last year and needed surgery - we didn't pay anything at all for it, and now that he has to take 5 different prescription drugs we get like 95% of their price covered as well.
I've never heard of mafiaafire until today, probably because i've never used any of those seized sites... But now i installed it just in case, Thanks DHS!
The "news" seems to be the p2p search protocol, which isn't really THAT new of an idea, and isn't too useful until it's supported by all the major clients and they actually manage to be compatible with each other, which given their track record will happen in a century or so...
I'm not sure how it works in most of the world, but here the law applies to anyone. Registration as a bank gives you some protection from those laws (stuff like money laundering and tax evasion by your clients) and in return you have more reporting to do and have to follow some basic regulations set by the national bank.
I sure as hell hope that in most of the world (or at least those countries where paypal have representation and assets) anyone who actually looses money from their actions can go to court and have them pay back disregarding registration as bank, this is how sane laws work.
Back in first grade I've stabbed some idiot that was trying bully me and was a few years older with a pen into his neck... The guy spent a few days in hospital, i was questioned by the cops but they agreed it was self defense (not that they could anything to someone 6yrs old...), and i got a reputation that prevented people picking fights with me for many years after.
Anyway... it's fucking 2010... the last time i wrote anything with a pen/pencil on a piece of paper (if you don't count signatures) was probably half a decade ago, i think it's time to retire the whole "handwriting" thingy from schools.
1) Take computer on which you can run whatever you like
2) Patch open source drm to remove all restrictions
3) Re-encode to any free format
4) Play on any device you like
5) ???
6) PROFIT!
Open source and DRM are mutualy exclusive concepts, as DRM by definition relies on security by obscurity.
Having a girlfriend is addictive. I seen the damage its done. For a majority of people certainly gamers who have learned to control there time spent with the gf it isnt a problem.
Err what? Mass is used in mych more than gravity, and any kind of negative mass would majorly fuck up many other, totaly unrelated things.
A negative-mass object would cool down when heated, and deccelerate (or accelerate in the whrong direction) when force is applied to it.
WTF community?
If real wants a free "community" to find their bugs for them they just need to opensource their code. Failing that i find charging them $ for finding bugs perfectly reasonable.
A system that embeds a CAPTCHA in an obscure place in TFA, then requires users to enter it on the comment pages before commenting to ensure they actually RTFA...
Any kind of encryption is just limiting access to the data, it can't limit your ability to copy, modify, decrypt and re-encrypt with a different key, etc.
Any DRM system can be defeated easily by modifying the software (or hardware) component, open sourcing it will just make such modifications trivial (comenting out a piece of C vs hacking bytecode)
Actualy some companies do install devices that record speed/etc on work cars
But i do agree, drug tests and monitoring are over the board, i would quit such a job right away and find a sane place to work at. And if enough people do that such behavior from companies would cease very fast.

Supporting terrorists as our government might have been a bad idea after all... who could have known?

But you can't make DRM work on any open format!
If you (as a developer) know enough about a file to render it, you can easily save it into any other (non-drm) format.
DRM and OPEN are two absolutely mutually-exclusive concepts.

Suing AT&T will mean you are a non-patriot (the A is for American after all) and land you in Guantanamo Bay.
Ok, they win, screw this illegal IT shit, lets all go make and sell drugs and weapons.
