Wow the spelling and grammer police are out. Way to avoid the subject and write about things that are next to useless. I will leave spelling and grammer to be corrected by the peons as it will give them something to do.
always open source? This is not the case as Iv seen many crypto chips which are asics that started as software implentations. These are not Open, the interfaces to the chips arnt even open.. but motorolla does sell phones with the chips in them.. course they dont sell them to us.. the sales of the hardware arnt even open. Its true that the.gov has funded open source, but not all.gov is open source.. not even close.
You are so right. PKI doesnt work, what was I ever thinking. You use amazon, iTMS, online air travel.. of course you dont.. those insane people use PKI and well you know you can produce a secure system so why even try. Making a more delicate system so that real people will do real work is competly wrong headed. Hoping some airline screener will do their job is insane and forcing them to as we have no real other backup system is even worse. A hand full of random personal facts does not prove idenity but that is what we have today. When are you going to wake up ans see we have already have a national id system which is has all the flaws of a bad system and none of the protections of a good system.
Its people like you that are happy to live in crap as you have no idea what being clean is. An opt-in PKI national ID system would solve many of these problems. You wouldnt be issued a number, you would have a public cert and a private key. It would be opt in for the morons like you that would fight it to their dieing breath until they saw how well it would work at which point you would scream at any friend, family member or stranger that didnt opt-in.
We need a national ID system that people who choose to take part of can force all credit card transactaions other sensitive transactions to require. The ID system should be optin for each citizen, but required for 100% by all information holders. Also it should be based on a PKCS#11 tokens, and allow people to select the token that they like. So the ultra paranoid (me) can use a biometericlly locked
token The only reason thiefs are intrested in our personal data is that it allows them to become us. Without that their is no intrest and our privacy can return. Forcing the banks to support a common pki will not be hard, no pki no fdic insurance. That will get all the finnacals on board. And where they go everyone will follow. These people that think we dont need a national identy system are retarted, they dont see that we already have one with all the flaws, but none of the protectons a good one will give us. A national ID system could top ID theft, put a huge clamp down on spam, and reduce the value of our personal information thus increasing real privacy levels.
The producers of Startrek Enterprise gave themselves concusions from repeated blows of their heads to their desks. One producer cried "Ripples in space time explain the universe, WHY COULDNT WE GET THESE GUYS AS WRITERS!'
If the Chinese and Iranians can't shut down the web why do the mormon think they can? I guess someone will get drunk, hold rocks to their chest and have someone else write it all down in a book.
The rights which are protected are decieded by the US government not the copyright holder. Futher limitaions on those rights are also decided by the government. Above we see used CD's and Used Books stores. Im sure the copyright holders on used books would prefer to shut down every used book store as it eats into their sales (how much is another discussion). Also when you buy content such as a CD you dont agree to an EULA, rather the contract has been already decieded by the government. I think the supporters of the GPL have a firmer grasp of copyright then youm, they understand that its limited.
All but 6 ex CS grads were rejected from Harvard. When asked why 99% of the applicants were rejected it was for hacking. The 6 that were allowed in said they looked compliment their understanding of computers and security systems.
Agreed, its the blind leading the blind. It will never work. The question is how is an ISP supposed to get out of this nightmare. The solution is to give all the logs of everything to the cops, thus when they come to you (a small isp admin) and say why didnt you report luser_1 the accurate response was I did, see here I emailed you all requests. I guess.AU needs "common carrier" notion. Its sad that usenet needs to die, but with people wanting to police bits, there isnt much else you can do.
I dont think the problem is forwarding abuse tickets. But rather people that connect through you to external sites that may or may not be serving something that the authorites have trouble with. Its rather easy to police your own content, and its also no too hard to forward compalients about content your subscribers (as an ISP) might be serving directly from their connection (or their provided web space). Rather the problem is looking at every object your users download and then determining if that is something that needs to be reported. In that case there is no real way they can police the content that users download from other sites. In that there is no way to determine that something someone has downloaded might need to be reported, the only solution is to report everything that everyone downloads, thus making it 'not your problem'.
If they want you to report all possible kidie porn, the solution is obvoius. Make it not your problem. Give them logs of every recorded accesses from all your users, no matter where they access. Let them decided that its not kiddie porn. I suspect their little windows email server will crash and die under the strain of even a small isp in complaince. Soon the authorties will discover (which we already know) that this is insane, and that there is no way to monitor what people are doing. So just hack up your squid logs to copy to their email box, sit back, and watch the fun!
Just like drug cases the only people that go away for the full streatch are the poeple that know so little they dont have anything to deal with. Yet you can be the jackass at the top and do the least ammount of time so long as you roll over on anyone and everyone. The moral of the story, make sure that if you get involed in any thing that the federal justice deparment might take note of you should always keep a good list of fressher fish then you. And of course use some good encryption on said list, you wouldnt want them getting it a hold of it and not needing your services.
Why not get a Happuaguge tv tuner card that comes with a FM reciever? The radio tuner alone would have to be several factors cheaper then the TV card to make this a good buy, and its not.
Uh If im going to use a gun that means Im ready to kill you, do you think Im going to have problem with the laws against hacking the gun so I can use it? This will just produce a new revenue stream and profession. We will create underground gun hackers that will 'fix' guns so that any one can use them. Whoo HOO lets dig holes and have others fill them in, I guess it keeps the econmy going, now if we could only find a way to tax this illegal profit taking so that everyone gets their due.
Any good programmer and security tinfoil hat boy would see that in the assignemnt you would not be allowed to share found bugs with your peers. And since you cant share them you would have no way to know that you and a peer have found the same bug unless you cheated. So if two people find the same bug they must NOT be cheating. Now that we have a argument where the rules are proved in the inverse we simply break down the work. Everyone finds one bug, produces a slightly varied writeup and everyone gets full credit. You obviosly skipped the social engineering lectures.
How is this going to work when I have antivirus software on my computer which is supposed to detect and stop exactly this stuff. Companies like symantec and mcaffe will have to buy in, and then Ill stop buying them. Spyware is spyware and a virus is a virus, even if the cops use it whats stops the bad guys from getting a copy and using it themselfs?
Half the price is the current weak dollar. So I guess we have to 'buy american' to save. Hey all you lazy midwesterns that are crying about manufactures not having any buisness, start making fanless computer cases. Damn slackers.
In other news black eletrical tape is banned in the US under the DMCA as it may be employed to cover the 'flash' on camera phones.

With out a doubt the 'loan coder company' is some jackass that wrote some little insignafacnt app that I would complety ignore if it wasnt for the fact that it solves some unbearable other bug in the OS or another app. Your dumb ass decides that since you learned C (or most likly VBscript) that you deserve to get paid, so you release it on the world as share ware, nagware and demand to be paid. On any real OS linux, *BSD, you would be laughed at and someone would just release the app for free as you should have. But since your jackass windows or Mac coder you want your due. Guess what your NOT DUE. Release it open source, asis without a warrente, then sell books and support. Do you think any one is going to sue Larry Wall? If living under this ridiculas patent law is required to get rid of your kind I say thank you USPO. For all of you reading this that are going to rate me -troll, thats fine, but you still know Im right. Hate me for being right.
