I don't think people will found an unmounted partition that easy.
Better yet (if you're feeling brave and using preinstalled windows), resize your restore partition and put your truecrypt container inside. (for plausible deniability)

Probably because if you're using it for read only purposes, it could outlive mechanical-based HDDs? IIRC SSDs have limited write cycles, not reads.
