Simply through lumps of it out the back in the opposite direction that you want to go in.
That's not steering, that's propelling. You could make some holes on either side and top and bottom as well, but the more holes you make the less shielding you have.
No, no. He said "The U.S. doesn't have fun at mentally lower rates of buglary". Americans just love the sound of brass instruments - life's just no fun without them.
Maybe, but I'd rather see the two photos side by side so that I can actually compare them and see the differences between the two photos rather than having part of one photo obscuring part of another. As it is you don't get to fully see either image.
Most Slashdot articles which have a title that is a question can be answered "no".
Does Net Neutrality Violate the Fifth Amendment? No. Is StarCraft II Killing Graphics Cards? No. Should Professors Be Required To Teach With Tech? No. Etc.
Ah, that's what I get for using English, I guess. Possibly the most ambiguous language there is.
Personally I would consider adding an XMPP gateway a change to their IM system. Obviously they kept the old system as well but they must have changed something otherwise it would still be the same. I suppose it is a question of what you define to be their "chat system".
We already have 100 crappy copies - we've got Facebook, Myspace, Bebo etc etc. There is some overlap in functionality but the basis is the same - a profile, a friends list, private and public messages, a "wall" of some form, maybe apps, etc. That's part of the problem.
Instead of this would it not be better to have an invisible (to the user) infrastructure that can connect these together?
Obviously users want things that just work, but people still like a choice and why can't they have a choice of things that just work? Some people like Mac OS, some like Linux and some prefer Windows but no matter which one I choose I can still send an email to someone on a different platform. Similarly some people like Facebook, some like Bebo and some like Myspace (ok that might not be true anymore...myspace really does suck) but you can't log in to myspace and send a message to someone on Facebook.
I assume you're talking about Facebook instant messaging. Facebook have since changed their chat to use XMPP which means that most multi-protocol messengers can use Facebook chat. You still need to have a facebook account to use it though, so it doesn't really help Spad. I guess you could register an account and not enter any details...
I don't understand? What is this internet good for? It seems pretty gimmicky to me. And I can read the news in a newspaper. So, uh, big whoop.
In all seriousness I really like multi-touch. In a way it doesn't make a huge difference - you can't really do anything with it that you can't with a normal mouse - but it cuts down on many key combinations/mouse movements that you don't realise how often you use until you've used a multi-touch touchpad for an extended period and then try and use a normal touchpad/mouse. It just makes things smoother and easier.
Good luck making a program that can export that format reliably from pretty much any given program in the way that pdfs can be. And when you're done, can you explain to the people I work with why it's better having an xhtml file and all the separate image files rather than one combined, portable file? Don't get wrong, I hate them too but there's a reason that they're so popular.
Spotify kind of does the opposite of that - if you mute the sound output or turn it below a certain level (in the software, obviously it can't detect if you turn your external speakers down) it pauses the advert (at least it does on my macbook, I've not tried it on my PC yet).
Oh give it a rest. Not all Apple users are fanboy idiots. I've got a Macbook Pro because it's a good bit of hardware and it suits my needs. I've also got an HTC mobile because an iPhone doesn't. I don't like the sound of this ad system any more than you do though I have a feeling it's not as bad as the SlashFUD makes it appear.
I'm no expert by any means but here are some numbers I pulled out of...Google. By extrapolating from what this guy says I get an answer of about only 750,000 years and judging by what else I've read that number is probably very low. Not that long on the cosmic scale but a little longer than you or I will be around for.

(btw, it's "throw" not "through")

And if that's not true you just need to apply it more.
It took so long to render that I never saw the bottom line.

True...although sometimes officials vandalise properties by removing legal graffiti.
You get paid to shit and you say it like it's a bad thing.

Well that's lucky as it will be the last thing he does before leaving the company.

So is Left 4 Dead, yet that isn't available...yet. Presumably because it's not just as easy as clicking "export for Mac".

So...some say it's alive, some say it's dead.
Obviously the only answer is removing the head or destroying the brain.
Potentially. Would you like it if your browser downloaded and ran arbitrary exes when you visited a website?
Congratulations. Have a cookie.
Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing says you're confusing your and you're.
If someone said they where going to X school to shoot it up - i would go to the school to stop them
if people where coordinating bombing a subway i would go to the subway to stop them
Yes, but you wouldn't know that they said it because you weren't monitoring them. /Devil's advocate
It's not illegal to blog about how you're going to shoot up the school; you're only committing a crime if you actually do it.
Hmmmm
