Imagine a machinima Gutenberg project - producing free versions of all the classic stories Disney ripped off.
At deep-discount stores you can get almost-free ripoffs of the classic Disney ripoffs of the classic public-domain stories (e.g., Aladdin). Uhh... does that count?;-)
If you have something concrete (not paranoid fantasies) where the ICC was abusive, please post a link.
Speaking of which, have you ever tried to actually find anything on the UN website system? Good luck. Last I checked, several document searches were broken.
See the/. interview, in answer to the question 'Comedy or Tragedy?':
I've hit a certain amount of difficulty over the years in explaining [Arthur] in Hollywood. I'm often asked 'Yes, but what are his goals?' to which I can only respond, well, I think he'd just like all this to stop, really. It's been a hard sell. I rather miss David Vogel from the film process. He's the studio executive at Disney who was in charge of the project for a while, but has since departed. There was a big meeting at one time to discuss, amongst other things, Arthur's heroicness or lack of it. David suddenly asked me 'Does Arthur's presence in the proceedings make a difference to the way things turn out?' to which I said, slightly puzzled, 'Well, yes.' David smiled and said 'Good. Then he's a hero.'
I remember reading about the Disney company's first (?) use of CG, in The Black Cauldron. There was a shot where the characters step into a rowboat and it was supposed to bob up and down, but when the animators tried to hand-draw the boat, it deformed like it was made out of rubber. So... the hundreds of perspective drawings required by the Dali short would have been just horrendous, if not impossible.
There are definite UI design considerations for various disabilities/disorders. I used to have a link to a website created by a person with lexical disabilities... can't find it now because all the main subjects used icons instead of keywords;-) If I can find any links, they'll be posted at my ADD site.
Hmm. An extremely convincing argument might be the work of a social engineer, trying to sneak a trojan into the tree. Better to plot Mitnick Factor on a bell curve so that the top 10% most convincing stories get rejected automatically.;-)
You know you've been on /. too long ...

ehheheh... I've never programmed anything with more than three axes, but hexapod systems look really cool (there's some photos and rendering at hexel.com). Thanks.
Yeah, and they've been in the news a lot lately. I guess everybody picks on you when you're popular.
Finally made up your mind, eh?

I'm told that MBAs are trained to look no more than 3 years ahead.
Thank you thank you for spelling 'sneak peeks' correctly .... now if only everyone else would.
'mentally cheaper' ... that's a handy little phrase. Is it patented?

How come the University of Wales gets to have a Centre for Explosion Studies? You never hear about Welshmen blowing stuff up. Oh wait, I take that back.

Makes you wonder if EDS is planning to fold, and Jordan was a perfect match?

Note: sig does not refer to mental handicapsThis is slightly OT but ...
Could this be prevented if there were a metadata system which tracked license & ownership of code (at least at a per-method level)?
You'd have to plug (convenient) support into the IDEs and code repositories, but it seems like it would be an improvement.

okay, sentient humanoid (non-furry) females then. My apologies to any non-humanoids and cosmic phenomena who read /.
I just wanna know who marked me Informative ... were they going by 'buzzwords,' or what ... ?
Personally I prefer sentient females, but hey, whatever floats your boat. :)
