But what if it's true? Should it be withheld on the basis of it being (inherently) racist?
In Sweden where we have laws against "hate speech", such as expressing racist opinions, I wonder what would happen if this turns out to be correct. Would we then not be allowed to discuss it?
That's funny, because AVI movie files can be streamed just fine to any other UPnP video media renderer.
But that doesn't really matter, since Microsoft decided that that wasn't good enough. Instead they use the Media Center PC to decode the video and then stream it via some form of RDP. That's why it makes no sense at all that it doesn't work.
That was the hardware. Now why don't they fix their crappy media center so that it will allow the 360 to play anything other than WMV and MPEG? There's this container format called AVI. Hello, Microsoft? Have you heard of it?
No, Transcode360 (or any form of transcoding) isn't good enough.
Yes, and if you read the entire article you'll see that he's not opposed to selling software. What good is it to click on the link to the article and then only read half of it?
Actually, there are no open drivers at all for the Parhelia or the P-series, even though Matrox promised it when the Parhelia was released several years ago.
So, if it really is, how come it's so badly tested? Has anyone tried the bundled GNOME Bluetooth apps? The BT Manager, to be specific? No? Well, I could tell. Because it will crash immediately upon startup. Am I really the only one that's using BT in linux?
It works just fine on my dualbooted Slackware Current (on the same machine, of course).
So, you're telling me it wasn't designed?
I kid, I kid.
Yeah, good luck with that.
Why are you talking about lynx?

They are pirates, so I assume it's in gold doubloons.
But it's not even a free download. You have to buy a copy of a recent version of Windows first. To the best of my knowledge, that's not free.
I'm not talking about the codec here. I'm talking about the AVI video container. You know, the one Microsoft developed.
I can install the codecs my self. And they work just fine. Thumbnails are created, so I know it can read the video files. But it won't play them.

Seriously. The codec's no problem. They install and play just fine. But it won't stream them to the 360.

So, does this mean Jörg's cdrtools will go the way of XFree86 4.4+?
I can see a lot of positive things coming out of this move.
Do you listen to a lot of porn?
Space is big. Really big.
Don't you mean Global Thermognuclear War?
Yeah, he got to boink Natalie Portman. Thanks for the reminder, I think I'll be getting my second mouse just about now.
No one's mentioned this?
Bring up the properties of the firewire disk in "Device Manager". Go to the Policies tab and make sure it's set to "Optimize for performance".
Actually, it's neither. It's a homophone.

I bet that's klingon for something.
K'Platoh!
She has however, since this was discovered, resigned.
She was a lousy minister of foreign affairs, so we're a lot better off without her.

Eh, no. The build will die a horrible death. Try 2.6.15 instead.
What's Gizmondo? And what's Tiger, for that matter? The blurb and the article neglects to mention that.
"Dices"?
