    I sure do hope there's some irony in your post I'm not caching.

    DARPA is an acronym standing for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
    It is an agency of the US Department of Defense it develops tech for the army.
    It's predecessor ARPA gave us the internet amongst other things(too condensed a statement).
    They like to issue challenges and geeks of all trades either like to participate in them for the sport and/or are picked from the crowd and given jobs at DARPA to develop new cutting edge technologies.

    You're over engineering this. We can already use pretty good mirrors to focus light onto a tower and heat salt then proceed to make steam and use general turbines. Just look at PS10 and PS20

    Don't limit your imagination to the current mass spread type of solar energy. You can use more then just solar panels, how about the PS10/PS20 solar power tower? We don't need to throw away all of our engineering prowess, I am concerned though there are such groups with that desire.

    Some one always brings this up. The satellites used aren't of the dumb kind, surely there's two way link that would track any change in the satelite's orientation. Better yet make the satellite auto shutdown if signal is not continuously fed to it.

    Often these discoveries are in the context of "discovering this or that phenomenon in practice" and not in theory. They aren't discovered as a new phenomenon, rather a confirmation of theoretical work. As this kind of theoretical work is often though and studied in academic environment you'd often get those people to "explain" what has happened to the unwashed masses.

    I run an FTP,DC++, torrent tracker and a TF2 dedicated server off my machine on MY pipe.
    I got 100% of what i paid for and i don't live in a pseudo country like the USA, that likes to pretend it has freedom only the truth is you get rear-ended from corporations all the time..
