this should be used as a perfect example of how patents are supposed to work?
You make your money off it, then it is released to the public domain for the common good? (although that "good" part may be questioned by some in this case)
It should give the impression of and lead toward a lower crime area.
My major problem is the guy's reasoning for this. "We are at war." Complete bullshit. This endless justification for anything because, "we are at war" only weakens people's tolerance for crap like this. Some people remember what war actually meant, rationing gas, and steel and daily items, not "carry on and keep spending money" or urban renewal projects.
It's so transparent it makes me wonder if the people who say it actually keepa straight face while trying to spread this crap.
That the University of Rhode Island and the Physics dept were made beneficiaries of the patent.
I can see this generating alot of revenue, and people (corporations) that may try to rip this off. At least they will have a vested interest in fighting for the patent.
I guess I have to disagree with you on this one. Most people are using the OS that thier computer shipped with, whatever HP or Compaq or Dell put on there.
The people who are using a pirated copy, more that likely know enough about computers to actually keep a computer clean.
It's the other home users out there, joe blow, who gets his cable modem, his new PC and leaves it on all the time. That's the guy they are refering to in the article. Not someone involved enough to actually track down a pirated copy of XP, get a serial that works, and spend the time upgrading.
But one of the easiest ways I found to fix problems is to give the caretaker a CD with a preset image of the HD. If something gets fubar, they just have to boot off the CD and it will reimage the OS back to the original state. Since it's a shared computer, nothing valuable should be stored on it anyway.
Actually, the way lipo works is removing the fat cells in your body. There are only a limited number of them. When you gain weight, the fat cells are just expanding to hold more. So once you get lipo, there are no fat cells to expand.
You would end up looking pretty odd if you get lipo and start gaining weight again. The only description I can think of is...dented?
Most insurance companies will go to great lengths to not have to cover a procedure. It's in their best financial interest to fully cover as little as possible.
It was fairly recently that even pregnancy coverage was mandated by the government.
He was there to respond to the "day after tomorrow" myths, and spent 20 minutes picking apart this Pentagon report. He basically said that the one event they base this entire article on, was actually caused by huge freshwater reserves that dumped into the ocean. These reserves came from pools left from the ice age. I recommend tracking down the audio on wpr.org. 7am - 8am hour this morning.
They just started coming out with actual retail products. In the past they sold mostly to food chains like Little Caesers and places like that.
40 lb. blocks. But they started putting out more consumer friendly sizes now.
I have to agree that Westby is pretty good. I like thier cottage cheese best by far. But next time you get a chance, pick up some Pasture's Pride brand curds (that the retail name) and see what you think of them.
I think they skirt around the whole technology issue, because they own the land, and the factory, but the business is owned by the guy I actually do the work for. He's not amish.
I posted this earlier, but I thought the Lucas Arts Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was well done. I am sure that wouldn't count a highly successful game, but that was back the percentage of people with PC in the home was quite a bit lower.
I had a blast playing Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
If they can make games like this that actually have depth to them, instead of a shooter with just a level from each scene of the movie, I am all for it.
But I think there is going to be a problem seeing a movie based on a video game. You already have in your mind, a set perception of the game and how it should go. Kinda like reading a book and then seeing the movie. It always seems like the movie sucks compared to what you had read.
You don't have to be smart to be a spammer You just have to lack morals in general.
I think that it actually shows that the anti-spammer is winning. Spammers have to resort to trojanned machines and illegal tactics to get thier job done.
Which makes me wonder, if it were a wild west situation where anything goes, and anti-spammers were allows to break the law in the same manner, would these spammers still be in business, or would there basically be a bounty on the heads of spammers.

From what I read, the memory is limitless, because the pen is just what is being manipulated.
All the work is done when you tell the "pen server" to acknowledge this click as something you want to pick up. (probably by a button on a stylus)
Then you the next time you tap the pen (or after you click the button on the stylus) it drops it in the next place.
So the pen actually would have any memory.

Fighting the next Ice Age since 1968.
The m.c. ecsher paint job.

not sure how Apple's work with a HD clone.

This is to avoid confusion in part numbers, between 1 - l - L - i - I, etc

are we bound to accept copyright laws from other countries? I know the US government tries to push their restrictions on less strict countries.
Does this mean that a US citizen could face extradition for copyright violation?
Oh yeah, I blame this squarely on the Italian PM, who I am pretty sure owns most of the media in the country.
I am not sure why it would suprise you.

We get it for free because they pay thier yearly tax.
I just wish I could get the BBC america channel at home.
I know alot of people outside of the US use p2p networks.
So would this give the RIAA means to use the federal government to get at these people, when they can't through civil lawsuits?
I wonder if they were smart enough to thoroughly check for backdoors, unchangeable passwords, and vulnerabilities before releasing it.

Yup, they are Amish.

K & K Cheese, outside of Cashton.
Amish cheese.
Kinda odd doing computer work for the Amish.
I get free cheese curds, muenster, colbyjack, and juusto when I do work for the local cheese factory.

If someone could get that, we could, at least temporarily, reduce this problem.
I've got a baseball bat and loads of free time.
Any OS can be stable out of the box. In my experience, the OS is fine, but it's some of the crap programs that cause instability.
And I highly doubt the control system would be exposed to any wild internet.
