I think I played Jumpman Jr first, or maybe it was Gateway to Apshai. They both come to mind. Ahh, the good old 8 bit pixelated graphics. But the gameplay was sure fun!
Then we should get the 4x4s off the road. Those of us in Colorado and many other states, would definitely be against this proposal, because every year that little season called winter rolls around. Last winter, Denver had 3 blizzards in 5 weeks. I was able to get out and do important things like go to work, go get groceries, etc. because I drive a 4x4. My buddy with a VW Golf couldn't get out of his parking space.
Not everyone who drives a 4x4 lives in sunny CA and uses it as a status symbol.
Yeah, I went to Best Buy to buy a new DLP they had advertised for $1500 online. When the guy went to ring me up, the total was $1800 + tax. I politely said *ahem* this printout I have here in my hand says it's $1500. There wasn't much he could say so he promptly changed the price.
TFA makes it clear that they are not comparing the activity to any activity on a historical scale. They are using the known, 20 year scale.
Data shows that the caldera floor sank 4.4 inches from 1987 until 1995. From 1995 until 2000, the northwest rim of the caldera rose about 3 inches, followed by another 1.4-inch rise until 2003. Then between 2000 and 2003, the caldera floor sank a little more than an inch.
And then from 2004 to 2006 the central caldera floor rose faster than ever, springing up nearly 7 inches during the three-year span.
"The rate is unprecedented, at least in terms of what scientists have been able to observe in Yellowstone," Smith said Emphasis mine.
Last month I went to Best Buy looking for a DLP I found online. When the salesman went to ring it up, it was $300 more than I expected. I showed him the printout I had in had in hand from their website, and he reduced the price, no questions asked. So it seems just keep a record of the price you found and you're all set.
Also something about wondering if we smash enough things into the moon if we'll lower the Earth's gravity and make the Moon heavier. For extra bonus points ask if someday (presumably "someday" in the near-enough future that the question actually concerns the asker) that will cause the Earth and Moon to collide.
Ok, any physicists out there feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember the force of gravity equation as GM1M2/r^2. So wouldn't the transfer of mass from M1 to M2 (Earth to Moon) have no net effect on the gravitational interaction between the two?
At my high school job (retail sales), we received an application where the applicant had filled out "Mister Meaner" next to the Have you ever been convicted of a crime? question.
I've had my debit card number stolen before and false charges charged to it. I simply told my bank my side of the story and didn't have to deal with it again. No different than a credit card.
I believe I have some of the best parents in the world. They brought me up with all the opportunities they could offer, taught me right and wrong, watched me grow up and graduate from a reputable university and get a good job, etc.
My little sister, OTOH, grew up to be a hellraiser, high-school dropout, pregnant at 18, etc.
So to all those who say the blame for these children shooting up highway vehicles should fall on the parents...I call bullshit. I have seen firsthand how the same set of parents can raise a "good" child, and a "bad" child, using the same parenting methods on both. Why not blame these kids themselves for their own actions? If these kids were 8 years old, and not 16, I might agree with you...
We tend to forget that: 1. Just because it's not found on the Internet, does not mean that it doesn't exist. 2. Just because it's found on the Internet, does not necessarily make it true.
Good point, but there is also an opposite extreme. I remember in high school, and even in college several years ago, there were teachers/professors who would only allow X number of sources in a paper to be from the web. They wanted to make sure we went out and found "credible" sources from a library, etc.
My argument: What difference does it make where I got my source, as long as I can prove it's credible? If I can find a Times article at the local public library that the teacher would approve of as a good source, what harm has been done by me being more efficient and finding the same article online?
No but they should. If someone shoots another person in the head, and it happens to graze off the other person's skull and that person lives, the person doing the shooting gets a few years in prison. Had that person killed the other person, he would have gotten life in prison or the death sentence! US justice system...rewarding people who are bad shots?/end-rant
I've played GTA3 from beginning to end. I think it's fine for ages 13 and up. Despite what the media's made it out to be, it's really not that bad.
There's no benefit to murder, it only makes the game harder.
I must disagree with your logic here. You're saying that everyone plays the game to go through the missions as easily as possible. I for one, have only played GTA3 to blow up as much shit and kill as many people as possible. That's why I think the game's fun. Yes, I'm a grown man, and know that isn't reality, but does a 13 year old kid think the same thing? For 99.9% of them, sure they do, but there've been some events in recent memory that prove some kids "might not get it." Enough to make it an issue...
You live in a country with an incredibly good road system. You can get *anywhere* in the continental US by road. You can't get more than 15 miles away from a road in the continetal US.
We should provide radiotherapy patients with a hospital-issued ID so they do not have to suffer through security checks. It would not be much more difficult than issuing a driver's license.
Likewise, it would not be much more difficult for terrorists with bombs to create a fake hospital-issued ID.

Actually I just bought a Greatest Hits title for the 360 yesterday. $30. So yes, they do exist.
Fair enough, although I was responding to the statement to get 4x4's off the road, which apparently would also include CityCar!

Air and subsequently aircraft implies earth the last time I checked.
Because you certainly can't repeatedly kick and kill men in the game. Just women! Oh wait...

I guess you've never been to Wyoming...
it's even water-proof!
Big Mother is watching you...
it could be the first key you try but it could also be the last.
Well I hope it's the last key you try, or else you are wasting time and resources for nothing.
Just an fyi, the actual name is the X Window System, not Xwindows.

They can travel on congested freeways at speeds up to 6 miles per hour for 13 miles.
This game WILL satiate your appetite...
