Apple products jump into screen without you noticing it. that is something a Microsoft product never does, because they really focus on it and give it a lot of screen time.

They've tried to push Windows 8, Windows Phone and the Surface tablet like this. And they still don't sell nearly as well as Android or iOS devices.

Belgium is actually one of the most expensive countries in the EU of mobile phone subscriptions, and this one I have is the cheapest of the lot.
I always found it fascinating you have to pay to receive a message in the U.S. People would scream bloody murder over here. The EU has even made some laws as to how much a text message can cost.

If you CAN make money out of it, that's nice.
If people are sharing your work for free, that's great (and a lot of publicity)!
If someone ELSE is making money out of your work, that's illegal!
Actually, in Europe, this "summer time" was designed to give us more light, not DST.
Since I was replying to "self assembled struc"'s post, which explained why technically DST is coming to an end and not beginning, I didn't think it was necessary to explain this concept again.

I'm part of this group (called Kipdola) consisting out of actors who make videos as a hobby.
To liven up our stories we like to add a bit of background music, put a bit of the Dune soundtrack under exciting bits and all.
This, of course, results in our videos being a copyright violation. To legalise them we would have to pay up to thousands of euros license fees. Our national RIAA counterpart (With the evil-sounding name of "Sabam") told us we'd be better, and cheaper, of by hiring a composer to make the music ourselves.
Come on! It's just a hobby, our content is up on youtube, but by the book it's still "illegal".
I'd like to do this without having to worry about license fees and such!
Oh no, there's no judging here! I had a similar experience with an "old friend" of mine last year. I always felt awkward for "violating her privacy" but, dammmmnnnn, the things I found out were totally crazy.
After that we lived together for another 6 months in complete silence.

Although these laws have existed for quite some time, haven't these only started to cause trouble in the last few years? (Since the popularity of the internet and such)
Think about it, my parents (and even myself, in my 10 first years on this world) mostly "taped" music from the radio. People didn't copy music then because they didn't know how or didn't have the equipment, not because they thought it was "wrong" to do so.
If you didn't have money you had a medium-quality audio rip, if you did, you bought them on vinyl, cassettes or, later on, CDs
Music as a property is just as ridiculous as all the other IP stuff.
I believe that when you do it for the money, you do it for the wrong reasons. In my eyes such music also loses all its value.
So, this advice has popped up numerous times by now, it might be wise to keep this in the back of your mind, but just "stop worrying" about this is plain stupid.
I, for one, am saddened that my parents and my grandparents don't have as many pictures as I do, and especially that they don't have ANY video's! I would have loved to see how they lived 50 or 20 years ago, respectively.
All I have now are stories, and that's one medium that will definitely fade away.
