Lol... fresh out of high school... you must be in your 60's then, cause I was fresh out of high school 20 years ago... I was using good ole Bill's software when I was in 6th grade, just learning to program in basic. I guess you are one of those guys that was around for the punch card machines and standing in line to feed your cards to the machines and all that jibber jabber. I don't even know why you are arguing this then... you probably think a tablet is what keeps your blood pressure down.:o)
Probably, not having an installer for an application in your distribution's repos... non-techie is belly up.
Maybe configuring video settings when your system isn't configured properly and the GUI's don't give you all the options... belly up again.
Could be enabling TRIM support in the FSTAB vs. some automatic system or through a GUI...
There are still a lot of things you need to do from time to time in an OS that aren't offered up in a GUI (that actually works as you would expect) in Linux. Sure, a lot more are now than used to be, but there are still a lot that are not.
I guess because he's been in the field longer than you and I and he has had a hand in a lot of things computer. Maybe he owns a tablet and knows the horrible typing experience they offer without an added keyboard (though adding a keyboard makes it useful right?) or maybe he just doesn't like change.
I thought COPS always opened with BP Vess opening his shirt to show off his metal chest... Fighting crime in a future time!!! Or was that not what you meant?
I think I prefer the look of the 10.1N myself. It stands out... though it does look kind of like a Toshiba or Acer Android tablet... hope they don't have a court case in the works.
I see someone else recommended the Linksys E4200 already. I've set up an E3000 (predecessor of the E4200) with DD-WRT and it works great. Very fast CPU, dual band 2.4 and 5ghz, B/G/A/N support with 2.4 and 5ghz simultaneous. It also has a 5 port gigabit switch and a USB port for hooking up a harddrive or printer. 480mhz processor, 64mb of RAM, 16mb flash ROM, it's a pretty powerful router for the price. Most sites have it for $159 or so, but Costco carries it for $130 if you have a membership. Also, I read yesterday, if someone you know has a membership, have them purchase a $10 gift card for you, and you can shop without a membership to use it, and pay the extra with a debit card or amex card, or with cash. I plan to get one soon for myself, to replace my WRT54GLs since I'm about to start purchasing some N equipment and setting up gigabit wired in my home.
And yet the use of rectangular devices with black trim and screens is something that you agree should be blocked for use by anyone but Apple? Seems that's pretty anti-competitive as well. I guess everyone else could still make triangular devices with white trim... wait, I bet Apple owns white too.
That's because the true purpose of a Geek Squad employee is not to fix your technology, but to sell you NEW technology in its place. They are more a squad of technology salesmen (and women I assume) than tech support staff. I've had to tell someone who unwisely chose the Geek Squad to be their technology benefactor, that although GS told them their computer was consumed with malware and thus, the entire system would not start (see also, would not even post), and that the fix would be $50 less than the new system they could sell them which would then be ready to go right now, vs. a week or more later, that the new system they purchased from Best Buy on the "Geek's" recommendation was a waste of money. A quick flick of the power switch on the old machine alerted me to the fact that it did not even attempt to post and that the power light was flickering in a pattern. Quick Google search for power light error codes and what do I find? PSU is bad. $20 later, the machine is booted, I'm scanning away on the drive and finding absolutely nothing. Morale of the story is, they are salesmen and nothing more. They MAY be able to help you with something, but most of the time that help is going to lead to some additional sale.

Expect Hallstatt to be available at your local neighborhood Walmart in the coming weeks.
Herd mentality? Woah there! Nobody said send him to an Apple Store.
Maybe it's 70's triangle...
This sounds a lot like Google Wallet... what happened there?
I thought COPS always opened with BP Vess opening his shirt to show off his metal chest... Fighting crime in a future time!!! Or was that not what you meant?
Who cops the cops... or watches the watchmen, or how does that go?
Because Apple just applied for this patent last year. Unless they already own a patent on time control devices.

Sounds like mid-life crisis to me...
But has anyone patented using power cells in a robot designed to infiltrate human colonies and assassinate them from within? I think not.
Sounds to me like a lonely nerd's dream come true! :o)

Anyone who made comments about VCRs being hard to program was a moron.
Or a /. reader... since they NEVER RTFA (or manual as this case may be)
Maybe they'd be interested in trading their wireless radio technology for Apple's rectangle technology.

Next thing you know they'll be showing prejudice against super-smart rats.
Your argument would be sound, if PC gaming was more popular than XBox/PS3 gaming...
Can the fakes be spotted by looking for the R in Appre?
That's a Japanese language stereotype, not Chinese.
No, it's definitely Chinese. Christmas Story: "Fa ra ra ra ra..." South Park: "Damn Mongorians!!!!"
I think radiation hardening is available free from Amazon Appstore today.
You might have had a better chance had you previously been a car salesman ;o)

I thought you said it was clear!? How's it look now? ...looks clear.
