Agree completely with the assessment that P v I is usually irrelevant, more commenting on the GPs assertion that HD=1080p when the vast majority of what people call HD ain't 1080p.
You know an awful lot of people in the Reagan sphere wound up dead, hell even Nancy. Maybe because people die everyday, if you wait long enough eventually everybody dies. Time to put the Conspiracy theories away and come join the adults.
The same nutters that trot out the Clinton death cabal conspiracy tend to trot out the other conspiracy fantasies. Birthers, Bengazi, 9-11, moon landing, UFOs, vaccines, Kennedy, Tri-Lateral Commission etc. etc. etc.
Maybe his is against offshoring tech jobs, maybe not. But he definitely doesn't have anything against using undocumented workers in his hotels or outsourcing the tech support for his casino businesses.
While I don't entirely disagree with you about truth in marketing, the vast majority of over-the-air "HD" broadcasts top out at 1080i so well you know.
"A frontal system with very low pressure blowing in from the Midwest has installed a radical leftist ruling cabal in the White House. This junta is increasingly totalitarian, and has infiltrated all parts of the Executive Branch, including the Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, the Environmental Protection Agency (which was already a hotbed of Marxism), and increasingly, the Judicial Branch. This cabal has intentionally set out to destroy the U.S. Treasury through outrageous deficit spending, massive redistribution of wealth, punitive taxation, unhindered expansion of the regulatory state, nationalization of industries, and finally, the passage of a leviathan entitlement known as “ObamaCare.” The President, acting more like the late Hugo Chavez every day, ignores Congress and the will of the people. He fails to enforce laws he doesn’t like, rewrites laws to suit his political fancy, and creates new laws with executive orders and memoranda."
Assuming you are in the US you can order a NetGear DM200-100NAS modem to replace the POS 2wire modem. Add your own Wireless Router and there you go. Works perfectly for me on my CenturyLink DSL connection.
Several other DSL modems are available from NewEgg.
Most, if not all, phones use the wire for your earbuds/headphones wire as the antenna for the FM radio. Usually can't use the FM radio with bluetooth because no
antenna wire.
Off the reservation my ass? I own a legal copy of OS-X, came with my Mac Book. The Mac Book died. I have chose to repurpose the license to non-Apple hardware. Not much different from re-purposing an OEM Windows license.
I don't give a shit what Apple intended or if they will support my configuration, there is a reason it's called a Hackintosh.
Also, for your information Apple used to sell a DVD with license of Snow Leopard and Lion. $19.99
As to a different conversation, you made a few factually incorrect statements and I was providing you enlightment.
I have bought multiple Motorola phones because I like the service and experience that I have gotten through the years. Now that they are Lenovo owned that may change but until it does I will continue to buy Motorola. That is the long term play.
Were you using a.410 because that is a mighty small gun and pattern to shoot skeet with? You were probably using a 20 Gauge or 12 gauge with a modified choke optimized to give you a wide pattern suitable for clay pigeons. Yeah, I know technical terms but hey you started it.
He is backing up photos, why are you assuming a 2TB working set every day?
A weekly full -->2TB with daily incrementals --> maybe 20MBs doesn't equal 10s of TB per week.
I agree on springing for the extra cost of ECC memory (motherboard + ECC RAM) on a FreeNAS box but let's be realistic here on the volume of backup necessary.
USB sticks have been effectively banned on DoD networks. We regularly use CD/DVD media to burn software and patches to then transfer it to the classified networks. The optical drives on the high side are almost always read-only to avoid issues with transport of classified off the servers.
Slashdot is a form of social media. So if you are posting with any handle other than "Anonymous Coward" you will need to provide that handle to your friendly neighborhood spy.
Where are you at? In most of the US the phone company is restricted from requiring phone service to get DSL. Call your provider and ask for "naked DSL". I know Frontier and CenturyLink offer it in most/all of their territories.
The fraud at the ballot box is out of hand in the US, similar to that of many "third world" countries.
Citation please. I agree that Voter ID might be useful, but I have yet to see credible evidence of enough voter fraud to sway any US election held in the last 20 years. IMO The logistics of in person voter fraud make it very difficult to materially affect a large election. NOW, computer fraud or dishonest vote counters is another matter entirely but not something Voter ID would fix.
Anonymous voting helps prevent vote buying and voter intimidation. If the buyer or intimidater cannot confirm you voted the way they want what is the point?
If you get decent coverage everywhere but your house and you have internet access at home try one of these: - wi-fi calling (t-mobile really pushes this) - micro-cell (or as t-mobile calls it CellSpot)
Getting off the Verizon train really is possible for most people.
Both ISPs?
Try living in an area where you had two choices but choice one just bought choice two and then a year later shut down choice two.
Prairie dogs didn't carry plague until ranchers started using it to kill prairie dogs. So kind of poetic justice that they give it right back.
And how many liberal "birthers" have you met?

An FBI who's director is a Republican who was originally appointed by a Republican. See two can play at this game

A sample from the diatribe:

Definitely an unbiased source there.

So the Hackintosh that I am typing this on is Apple hardware and came with a copy of OS-X?
Facts suck don't they.

Motorola makes the Moto G line which is not huge and gets pretty decent performance. Runs a vanilla version of Android with very little bloatware.

But we do not judge the Manhattan project this way, because they didn't actually have a defense against nuclear weapons.
How do we know that? Maybe they were very, very good at keeping it secret and took the secret to their graves. #Conspiracy theories
Agree completely. ;-)
Right now the Motorola phones that Lenovo is selling were designed before Lenovo took over and are pretty damn good phones for the price:
Moto X Pure Editoin
Moto G Third Edition
Moto E
I'm sure that will change eventually but the current line-up provides pretty good bang for the buck.
