In 1943 it probably cost a few hundred thousand $ to build - if that.
Today's "updates" will cost $4.3 billion, be obsolete 6 months before completed, take 6 years, be the subject of multiple disciplinary hearings, congressional investigations and DOJ corruption probes, won't work, then ultimately will be outsourced to China for completion prior to being abandoned for a new technology.
That CGI "achieved the highest possible Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level for development certification..." more than proves that the entire model is useless!
"which included execs from Facebook, Lockheed Martin, and Sony, and was advised by representatives from Cisco, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Northrop Grumman, the NSF, and the NSA."
Aren't these chuckleheads a good representation of all that is evil and corrupt and driving Team USA into the ground?

Fixed that for you. You think Big Pharm didn't get where it is without colluding with the Criminals in Congress(TM)?
Same goes for Vermont's site. Total crap. The Oracle Identity Manager appeared to be rolled out with default settings - including default text where Vermont-specific naming conventions should have been inserted but weren't. I don't think you can blame Oracle for this. In Vermont, as at the Fed level, this is massive incompetence by CGI and the state IT bureaucracy. The legislators don't seem too concerned. After all, Vermont was FIRST. That makes it RIGHT.
No it doesn't.
Would you please take a crack at Vermont's site - also made by CGI? It is crap and we are getting nothing but a snowjob from the powers-that-be.
Thanks for confirming that, Diane!

tests can detect cocaine many, many years later. How is this so?

on my list of too sleazy to deal with...
Oh good. Would you like my hyperinflationary Zimbabwe $10 trillion bill?

Where can I get that app? I want it.
Smart Citizen reads like an off-the-shelf tool to aid the NSA. No thanks.
I think the only point of the story is that Dear Leader says it is OK so it must be so.
You can keep your errors.
Period.

Adjusted for inflation the NASDAQ isn't worth any more than it was 13 years ago.

EFF has been sending out stickers to cover cameras on devices. Let's hope they start sending out little cotton balls to plug mics.
When does American Idol's new season start?

"so our site is only possible because of the hard work that the Healthcare.gov team has done"
Sorry, no. this information was already out there. How do you think people found insurance online before? Lipstick on a pig is right.
Our Gov is finally "out of patience" with Vermont's site (built by the same CGI that did such a bang up job on the Fed system: http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20131031/NEWS03/310310034/Governor-Peter-Shumlin-Web-woes-prompt-changes-to-Vermont-health-reform
Yes, as opposed to Vermont where we set the bar so high nobody can use the state's site.
Great book! I'm halfway through it and it has got me riled up enough to ...Hey! Shiny ponies!
