No, it;s not just you. It left me feeling empty as well. If I had not been with friends, I would have walked out half-way through (not something I usually do, no matter how bad the movie is).

And there were many things that were distracting; such as:

    - blond haired evles with dark brown eyebrows
    - Orcs that looked like the Insane Clown Posse
    - Elves that seemed more human than elvish
    - lack of hobbit & elvish song made the movie bland.
    - etc

BTW, I am a huge Tolkien fan, but I wish that I had never seen the movie.

So...driving is a privilege because they tell you it is, and you believe them? Wake up, and smell the coffee. Many people depend on this so-called privilege to make a living -- should making a living be a privilege?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of automobiles. I have structured my life in such a way so that I do not require any vehicle beside my feet, and my bicycle.

I think that most people would be much happier without the pollution, financial burden, endless concrete slabs, and accidents caused by cars, but, I still don't consider cars to be a mere privilege.

How much does a floppy cost nowadays anyway? Probably more than a CDR. After a while the cheaper media cost would make up the drive price difference.

You can't sit on the sidelines and bitch about how you can't use linux at your job. You need to actually do something about it.

When I started my current job assignment a year ago (in state government), I was the only person using Linux in a sea of NT machines.

Now, one year later, I am in charge of Linux R&D on our z-series mainframe - which will eventually become our preferred server platform!

If I had just sat there, and decided to be a good little Windows user, none of this would have happened!
