    It can even contain "Jesus super duper saver" functionality, but the whole thing still runs on windows copy protocol. And it can be as fast and as reliable as the said protocol.

    P.S: I regularly use Robocopy, but only because I can't install FTP server whenever I want.

    If you have FTP problems, consider changing FTP server / client.

    FTP = file transfer protocol

    It's the best thing to copy files, but of course some server / clients are horrible.

    I don't fight Robocopy, I love it. Why do you imply I hate it?

    But it stills uses Windows protocols to copy files. FTP is a much better solution for large files, besides you don't need to VPN the traffic if you have to copy it over the Internet.

    Robocopy works on top of Windows network layer, it's the same as using copy / paste with some extra functionality.

    If they are proven guilty and even then they walk away with a lot of money.

    I don't know about you, but I'd trade 1 year of prison for 1M Euro. Especially if you have a good prison (like we have in Slovenia) where you can learn something while you wait.

    You can grow pot inside quite cheaply if you wish to do so.

    Just spend 15min on the net and you will find all the answers you need. Beside nursing a plant is very Earth friendly. :)

    As long as the mainframe can deliver the advantage and deliver a reliable service, I don't see it going out of the market. But personally I see the future going toward cloud computing and virtualization.

    Bloat is the reason.

    Make sure you system is running only what is needed. Usually most of the new PC a preloaded with tons of bloatware running in the background.

    I use QuickRestart plugin, so when Firefox is having her period, I just restart it quickly. All the web pages that were open will reload again.

    Usually I use it for Java unresponsive errors, since I have 4 ton of ram.

    Some mobile carriers do not allow VOIP communication or will charge you extra if you use it. Since you can't use SSH for VOIP (apparently SSH is not intended for UDP) the only solution is a VPN connection.

    So you need a device that is able to create a VPN tunnel before starting a communication, the downside is battery longevity, since having constant 3G connection will eat you battery in no time.
    The other solution is a pre-paid SIM card, but in most states you won't be able to get one unless you show your ID.

    I don't see it that way, thanks to Linux now a license for Windows XP home is close to nothing. Maybe Linux is not ready yet, but we as buyers can already feel the benefit.

    Nah, you have to pay a lot for it if you don't have a healty bussines model in your country.

    Before EU, we had 1 Telco, low-speed & high prices. Since we become part of the EU another Telco joined the market.

    Now we have 10/10Mb connection + TV + phone + mobile phone for 30E, no installation fees and you are free to break the contract with 1 month notice. Latency is 15ms to the first node, 50ms to the other side of Europe.

    And yes, we still have problems with rural areas, due to bad lines as you say.

    I know about bad lines and it's a problem that needs some planing.

    My ISP gives me 50ms response time to Google, 20ms is the latency inside their network. This is on ADSL, on optic is close to 10ms.

    The other ISP I can pick has nowhere near this response and reliability.

    But how do we promote a good ISP, all the people can see is download speed and price they have to pay for it.
