Even if steam or your internet connection is offline you can still play the game in offline mode. But if steam or your internet connection is down when you want to activate the game (to play it on another PC), then you are fucked.
No, the best way to avoid drone strike is not to be where USA decide to carpet bomb the region for whatever reason they choose to. After all we don't know why they are still present in Iraq, they said it was because of the weapon of the mass destruction, but since none was found, what the FUCK are they still doing there?
There are people running high resolution at 120Hz, to enjoy this type of graphics at insane fluidity you need to pay the price. Worth it? Depends who you ask.
But I'll add something, forbid the government from owning (fully or partially) a company providing Internet services, or they will put anyone out of business using dirty tricks.
You can leave the problem to luck/chance/evolution, but to get anything you need a huge amount of time. And this type of time, doesn't go well with our mortality.
Oculus Rift is going to bring us the VR many have dreamt for years, sure this year they will only produce the developer version. But soon we will get the commercial version, higher resolution, lighter, even better tracking,... and all that for 300$.
Must be a Slavic language thing. The worst swearing I know of is in Serbian. The creative ones can go on for 20 minutes without using the same word twice.
Or just use a firewall / router to block access to your PC from the outside. And if you don't do this already you are a zombie (botnet).
But I do agree with you, the extra features available through the service are most of the time not needed and I have no idea why they insist on forcing us to have this crap running in the background.
Disclaimer: I'm a sysadmin so my experience may not relate to your wok.
Think how much time it will take and multiply it by 3.
But then again I have an incredible feeling for time. If I wake at night to take a piss I can tell what time it is (-/+ 10 min). And I decided to be without watch 20 years ago, yet I'm never late.
Some of us also like to play games using the latest hardware. There are still a lot of games using UT3 engine that will run just fine on older hardware. There is no need for the whole game industry to wait for every single Joe to buy new hardware.
Anyway, it's not like the game will rot or anything, it will still be there when you finally get a new machine and then you can play the game using your new PC at his best.
If you paid for the VPN services with the credit card on your name you did nothing for your security. Unless you can trust that the VPN provider will do everything to protect your identity.

PC expensive? Not so much if you factor the game cost. After you buy 10-20 games I bet the consoles are more expensive.
But anyway, you buy the hardware to play the games you like, and I don't like console games.
Got any link to this story? I'd love to read about it.
I live in a town of 20.000 people, state build Internet and I have a very reliable 20/20 optical line for 30Eur/month.
This.

I decided to learn Perl since I got the impression it was the best scripting tool for a sysadmin dealing whit Windows and Linux environment.
So I have to ask, is Perl still the best tool for me (I love Perl) or should I move on to something else?
Only if you like the games on the consoles. I don't.
I'll avoid the whole graphical differences that PC can bring.
Some like to waste their money on cars, booze, ..... I like to spend 400Eur on the PC every year.
In the early day of the internet we didn't even bother with DHCP, all the PCs in the lab had static internet IPs.
Linux and windows 95 with static internet IP4 address with no firewalls.
Pull something like that now and you are fucked up in 2 minutes. :)
.. your country bought a shit load of IP address in the early day of teh Internet.
for the record:
Slovenia population: 2M
IP4 reserved IP: 2.5M

Diablo 3 is like that. Putting the key files through mlink on a SSD disk or even USB key will bring incredible advantage.

Bring me the future NOW!

Create a script to post random stuff on Facebook/tweet/email ad infinitum.
Who is the idiot that leaves the laptop with sensible info not password protected and data encrypted?
And how this differ from sensible documents not being physically secured from 3rd party?
You completely missed the point.

Yet those laws made everyone's life better and increased the buying power.
Who are you going to sell your goods if no one has enough money to buy fancy stuff?

The VR headset is the next step in hardcore PC gaming since the technology seems to be finally here.
Oh boy, can't wait for the consumer version of the Oculus rift (the current resolution is a no go for me).
And again the porn users will help us push the virtual reality technology in every home. All hail the power of the boobs!
Don't troll.
The fact that school is a fight place doesn't mean I approve it. And it's not much better in a work place, it just gets more refined.
