I bought an i5 750 in 2009, O/C to 4.0Ghz and still plays all high end games smoothly (well, except Crysis3), sure in those years I added more RAM, SSD, changed GPU every year to keep the system as fast as I could, but the core of the PC is still from the 2009 and I'm a hard core PC gamer.
The only reason I went fro Win7 is because of DX11. As for work, all I need is SSH, RDP and an Internet browser.
PC will never die, the problem is Intel and the developers, they can't keep up with the CPU power.
The rest of the world will look at them funny, while I doubt their population have any idea what the Internet is (and if they do, they already know how much bullshit is going on anyway).
I don't know about Apple, as everything made by them is on my ignore list. But since you mention Linux.... it's not a problem of the distribution, like for Microsoft it isn't, but what a particular store/company decides to install on the device they sell.
Even bigger contributor to Linux gaming is Unity3D.
A lot of new games are developed using this relatively cheap/easy tool to create games, where the community shares free or for a small charge scripts/pre build packages and the game can be compiled for almost every platform.
If he thinks the car insurance company will have it bad, wait what is going to happen to us.
Fully automated cars means less cars and lower fuel consumption, that will translate in fewer bought cars, less car mandatory insurance, less road taxes and less fuel sold. Our governments will have their tax income cut in half.
It has the best hardware for gaming of all the VR sets. and even if it is bulky it still needs improvements. Sadly all those components that makes it bulky are needed.
Luckily technology is evolving fast and probably in 1 year when the consumer version comes out everything will be in place. Google glass as fancy as it looks is nowhere near to deliver proper gaming VR experience.
No, this is just stupidly designed model to combat piracy.
Football Manager 2013 and Shogun 2: The Fall of the Samurai both sold on steam and easily played in offline have not been cracked yet.
I bet paying them for the DRM code would cost much much less then maintaining all the server while not pissing off your customers. Sure it might get cracked one day, but all you have to do is to change a couple of DRM code and add a small free DLC to keep paying customer buying your game.
Why, do you think there is some magic hidden in the brain and it can't be replicated using mathematics?
We will get there and very soon.
... because you will need it. The US of fucking A will nuke you faster then NK.
"it's looking up the answers on the internet, so what?"
Ironic, since the answer on the Internet is also given by the AI.
Unless they want to block the whole encrypted traffic you can't control SSH tunnelling (I can host it on any port I want).

There are several options at your disposal and you can choose how you want to aim.
Can't wait for the sharks with freaking lasers DLC!
So, I got this super-awesome 2Gbps internet connection. What cheap router (max 50E) should I buy?
Priceless, console players looking down to android (ouya or phones) and telling themselves how can anyone play on this inferior hardware.
Look, console players, for us hard-core gamers it is you who are playing on inferior hardware in a caged environment.

It went as planned, now the US of A controls the Iraqi oil fields.
Or they had another reason to for the attack?
Explain to whom?

But since you mention Linux
yap
Thanks to Unity3D now there is a ton of games for every OS.
Sure, they are not spectacular as the high end PC games, but we are not talking about this type of games now.
Every OS comes with bloatware when bought in a store. Even the phone, there is so much crap on it it's unbelievable.

You don't combat drug (ab)use by prohibition, you use education.
And anyway the side effect of prohibition will do far more harm to society then any drug can.
It's all about the price you are willing to pay for this luxury.
If it costs you 10k$ a year to own one, as opposed to let's say 500$ to rent one when you need it, you will think about your priorities.
So, this is how much his life is worth, 100.000$.

If you think we are in a bad position now ...
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof was to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

WTF?! Seriously, why are we paying this idiots for?
This idea is so stupid it doesn't even need a technical explanation why it will fail to produce anything good.
