What do you think calling them "M$" will accomplish? Nothing. It's like, uh, liking a post against Kony on Facebook. It accomplish nothing and makes you look like a fool (as I see it). We all here know about Microsoft's evil ways, I don't think it's necessary to keep using that. What are you gonna call Apple, "iFag"? Go ahead, be my guest. But I think it's ridiculous.
About iPods: the first generation wasn't a raving success. Only when it added USB compatibility in 2003 (3rd gen) it was successful, so the comment is spot on. Take a look at sales: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ipod_sales_per_quarter.svg
About iPhones: that's just a guess, predictions fail. When it comes to Nokia, we're not guessing: we know.
About iPads: they're actually the worst of both worlds... for a Slashdotee (?). Are they saying it wasn't to be successful?
You raised an interesting point (: Although I haven't tried it, some people here and there claimed MeeGo to be quite a nice OS. Don't you think that, given enough momentum, it could've been competitive?
I think everyone who follows closely the industry was already aware of that fact. It was a shit move for Nokia, I'd go so far as to say it wasn't just a bad decision: the guys in charge should be prosecuted.
No sir: the last time I installed Windows XP from scratch and then installed IE8, it wouldn't allow me to add other search engines. I tried for half an hour to look for a workaround and couldn't find one. They changed its behavior
Let me get this straight. So, in order to become a CEO, you don't need to have solid technical knowledge, you just have to be "assertive", "proactive" and all that crap. Am I correct? I don't have a clue about the daily activities of a CEO.
This reminds me of Homer working for Hank Scorpio (terrorist guy) to help him boost productivity: "Uh... Work harder!"
What the hell will she do there?
Extremely unlikely. Why would you want that, by the way? Just plug those cards into PCIe slots. Thunderbolt support will come with discrete controllers for the time being.

"Heh, I called them 'M$'. That will show them!"
Do you REALLY think we need to be reminded? Especially on Slashdot, of all places...

I'm not trying to be offensive, but stop typing "M$". You are not 15 years old, are you? Also, this isn't 1997 anymore.

Do you really think Commodore Taco's post represented Slashdot's users opinion?
Thank you for such an articulate reply (that I couldn't have conveyed properly)

Oh, a new cellphone? Welcome to 1986. Yawn.
Not to mention that on 2013 Atom's are supposed to undergo a new "tock" (Architecture redesign)
This post made me laugh. DISCLAIMER: I'm a vegetarian.
You realize the Slashdot crowd is old when this post scores 5, Funny

So you get to choose among several pieces of shit. Hoozah!
So what? The problem still exists

But you could mine them faster with a GPU on your balls!
Stereotypes exist for a reason, but I certainly haven't given her a chance, so point taken.

Machines are expensive

Came to post this, more attention for her is like fuel for a bonfire.
Sorry, they had it coming. Nobody told them to be more like Chrome.
