Google is correct. Try to figure out, for example, if one in the USA today can survive without a bank account. My company won't pay me without direct deposit, and if I worked for one that issued paper checks, I'd still need to provide documentation to some bank to cash them. There is no way to be private in today's world, unless you try very, very, very hard.
Agreed, teknopurge. CRCulver, are you serious? There is nothing more wrong with the education system in the USA than the lack of positive parental involvement.
If there is no way for sure to know, get the CV ready, but don't be surprised if you don't need it. I was recently employed by a Big Ten School that had talked for years about consolidation of tech departments... which would likely have eliminated my job... turns out it was just a big shot at the university-level trying to pad his own resume.
I agree 100 per cent. I wonder how much the people handing down these laws and then sentences understand what it is they are punishing people for. Do you really want the Judge in your case telling you you put something "bad" in an internet tube, and then attempting to send you through such a tube to Federal Prison?
The "free" credit reports don't seem to come with the "most important" part... the score. That usually runs about $10 per score, from each of three agencies.
Perhaps this question will demonstrate my lack of understanding of physics... but, at said risk, I wonder how any physical object can ever be of 2 dimensions? (Flatlanders, beware!) Even a dot on a piece of paper is 3D. The height of the dot may not be statistically different than zero, but it is not zero.
You don't say whether or not you even want to use the degree... are you interested in CS at all? If you are, there are plenty of IT jobs sans programming... Sys Admins typically start out well enough and need to do some scripting, but not generally too much programming (where scripting = perl and programming = java, for example). Do what makes you happy, or you'll end up a crusty old man better armed than your local militias...
I used to do work on Rent A Coder, till I couldn't compete anymore. 5 years ago, you could get good money for writing simple projects for people (I didn't ask what the projects were for;)... now programmers abroad are doing the same coding for about 10 times less cost (my non-scientific observations on my project bids) than I can. This thing has been around a long time.

If you look here: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/activities/2.html, you will note that riding to work and back will likely only burn off 4/10 of the big mac you eat at lunch ;)

Exactly. In , the power retains power by exhibiting its sins in public; the USA retains power by hiding its sins.

Carry a thumb drive with lots of GB and mail it to yourself before you leave :(
