Conservative minded people are always prepared to bomb. Only us 'nutcases' are uncomfortable with bombing innocent people and inciting further terrorisim. Call me a nutcase.
We've done this kind of thing before. When CDs came out we payed more for them than for records, yet records actually cost the record companies more to produce.
Why did we pay more? Because CDs were generally better than records, more durable, smaller, etc. You could argue that digitially distributed music is better because it's eaiser to acquire, you just download it rather than having to trot down to the store or wait three days for the order to arrive via the mail. So you could argue that there's more value in digitally distributed musice, therefore we should pay more for it.
Of course, I don't buy this argument. I still buy very few CDs because I hate being ripped off and I doubt I'd buy digially distributed music. I'm not sure about the renting idea, but if you they could sell music (instead of renting it) I'd bet this would catch on.
Sure this is off topic, but I for one am sick of reading stories where the the author doesn't have these basic language concepts down. It's hard to take/. seriously when contributors write like 14 year old boys.
Depends on how good your CRT is. I prefer a LCD to my crappy CRT, but my nice crisp 21" is by far nicer than an LCD. Well, except maybe for that huge Apple LCD sceeen, but just maybe.
BTW Once you have built in a built in modem and ethernet port I am not sure what use PCMCIA
ports really have? I have removed the blanker cards to allow better air flow.
For yor wireless card, of course. What's the point of a laptop without a wireless ethernet?
Yeah, I was buying a laptop recently and I specifically looked at Dell because I'd heard they were shipping some machines with Linux. I couldn't find any laptops offered with Linux, figured they were only shipping Linux on server machines.
Oh well, I bought an IBM laptop and it turns out I like the "nub" mouse so much better than touch pads that I'm really happy I didn't go with Dell.
Last time I tried, I couldn't even get a static IP for business use from Verizon, even if I were buying 1.5Mbps bandwidth. Now, if I wanted a T1, that was a different story of course. Same speed, 10X price but I get a static IP.
LEXX is a blast, much more fun and inventive than most other sci-fi shows, and with a sense of humor too. Actually, it's not really sci-fi is it? Not much focus on science or technology. It's more "space adventure".

English public transportation is a dream compared to that of the U.S. Outside of large East coast cities, U.S. public transportation consists mostly of shuttles between shopping malls.
Ok, that's not quite true, but U.S. public transportation really is in a sad state.
The English however
have been everywhere and know where it is, but still dislike everything that is not British.
Ok, but we dislike everything that's not American even if we don't know where it is.

My doctor reccomends periodically focusing on objects in the distance. Finally, a medical reason to have a window office. Now, if I could just get an office.
I had some RSI problems that finally forced me to look for alternative keyboards. I tried the Microsoft ergo keyboard (blush) and the problems went away within a few days. Granted, my problems weren't severe and solutions will be different for different people, but for me the M$ keyboard worked. Now, if they could just make the keys less spongey.

I think that's why the person was asking.

They just want better TV, and now they're going to get it.

C doesn't ususally have much to do with AI programming.
Sorry, I am an atheist
If you really want to fight, "da man" then don't use commercial software (warez or not) at all. Use GPL software instead, it's much more effective.

Set up a VPN to work, then they'll never see the port 25 access. Works for me.

That's a really stupid argument for not adopting a better standard of measurement, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Sorry for not being painfully explicit

Don't forget they had one of the biggest, if not the biggest, IPOs ever.

Just continuing the tradition of /. gratuitous criticisim.
