Since my computers and peripherals are a matter of life and death, that's the theme I've used.
DIE - in an ironic sense, hoping my desktop wouldn't LIVE - my dad's old computer, also in an ironic sense, hoping it wouldn't LIMBO - mom's laptop, because who knows the path it will take. Salvation - because macs are just oh so much better than PCs Charon - Because my dSRL is tall dark and bad-ass St. Peter - as a smaller camera, he's easier to introduce at parties than Charon. Zombi - Even if my computers all die, my external hdd will survive.
It comes package with our $1.50 Sunday paper. Then afterwards, when you've realized there's nothing on tv to watch, you can make papier-mache with the paper!
If it doesn't have to be brand new, there's a whole slew of used cars for ~5-8K that would suddenly become a lot more affordable with this. And by used, I mean 'less than 50k miles and get 33mpg'
I picked up awerty pretty fast in France, so really the only thing keeping me from switching to dvorak is that I would probably pick colemac first. Just 'cause.
I don't know whether it's a comfort or cause for fright to consider that the role of President might be the last celebrity that doesn't feel obligated to slather make up on or have their pores digitally removed. . .
I dunno, if we saw something like the television switchover in the US where a large body [government or not] would foot the bill for the change, it could happen very quickly.
It's all a matter of someone up there wanting to make it happen instead of just ignoring it.
I don't think web servers have progressed to possessing the kind of fuzzy logic where they can go 'OMG it's almost the end of a leapyear! I better freak out'
Seeing relations like that is more geared to humans, who sometimes teach computers to look for specific examples of such coincidence, but generally I believe they couldn't come up with it themselves, at least not on the webserver level.
The support for this mouse for both my OSes (osx, vista) is pretty broken out of the box, but once you get online and update, the software is pretty amazing (well, it was to me, I dont' really have a lot of experience with mice!)
anyways, I got this mouse because it was bluetooth, and since I use an MBP, I'm kinda hurting for usb ports and have bluetooth I'm typically not using.
Well, it turns out that they have this ridiculous usb bluetooth dongle which MS claim is the only way you can use their mouse. Okay, whatever. Luckily there are some wonderful people who can help you remove your dependancy on this completely useless dongle.
However, compared to my other "mouse" (a mouse-shaped stylus that goes to my wacom intuos 3:p) this thing, minus all the bluetooth details, is a dream. It comes with a rechargable double A (although the retailer I got mine from didn't include the power adapter, D'OH, but shipped one as soon as we told them), plenty of buttons (although the scroll wheel doesn't so much scroll as glide. Think one that you've had for so long it doesn't click anymore;.; )
Anyways, I pretty much fell in love with it, and it allowed me to finish my CAD assignments without spending every moment at the computer labs (have you tried working in autoCAD with a touchpad? It's impossible. my god.)
Our engineering department has an India program they push quite heavily; there's also a Central American one. While it's Civ Es and their ilk that would get the most benefit, being able to say you helped a village get a clean water filtration system up and going would probably look pretty good, if only because you could emphasize with the Indian techs.
My personal yard oak tree put out plenty of acorns this year. Enough for me to smash and look at the little "cheese" in the middle and take some back to my dorm to throw at my boyfriend's friends.
I was at the bank buying some Euros to go to France this summer and this very redneck couple came in, the woman leading the man, and I couldn't help but listen as the lady at the counter did exactly as your mother does.
This woman said she had been a little leery, so not as bad as it could be, I guess.
who's got a 64-bit operating system?
not me, that's who!

(what's keeping me from colemac? lazy)

Or maybe they already do
and it also warms up the outside air! win all around.
But the rest of us were perplexed at this inelegant way to state the obvious!
We dropped $10 on a converter box and promptly lost half our channels.
yeahhhh, there's nothing for spawning ingenuity like not letting someone enjoy the fruits of their labor!
Students pay the universities hefty sums to be able to use that equipment. This makes no sense at all to me.

Huh, I never knew that was a movie. Was that long long book a novelization or was the movie based off the book off the story?
I make fun of my friend regularly for googling things that are in his search bar search engines list.
he also googled google maps.
But it isn't boring!
And yes, I also like to crochet and scrapbook.
I used to think the same, but my eyes were opened when I read Pride and Prejudice this summer. Maybe that moment was when I became a woman.
Someone else read that Funky Winkerbean strip?
I don't know what I'm looking for and nothing is particularly obvious. Is it the line behind the menu bar?
Sometimes when I look at my MBP screen really hard I start to imagine I can see every little crystal suddenly freeze up and nucleate :O

Oops.
Yes. The first thing you do when you walk in the door at work is swipe your time card. The last thing you do before you leave is swipe it again.
so that's where all the names on the No Fly List came from . . .
Well, Let OO.O include the same [unchecked by default?]
I remember this came up with the 'omg firefox takes so long to load'.
