Well said! I'm a big Opera fan (although I don't use the mail client) and I really don't understand the 'down' some people have on this most excellent browser. Perhaps he's a Microsoft whore.
Didn't I see an hilarious piece on You Tube recently about redesigning the Stop Sign? Well these things look the same! What a waste of time and money. I don't even need one...I know who I am.
Hasn't anyone considered the low-lying Pacific islands that will get swamped by the rising sea level that all these floating/bouyant objects will cause. I calculate that one rubber duck displaces 0.1 cubic centimetre of water, so it will only need 2,000,000,000 or so to drown the islands of the Maldives. P.S. I made the figures up, but I'm sure there's some sad clod out there who can do the math for real...
Surely IBM will have more influence over future ISO decisions if it remains a member. This is particularly true of a 'Big Player' like IBM who will carry a lot of clout. 'Outsiders' can be discounted far more easily as they are simply not part of the process, and could therefore be said to be irrelevant. IBM should collaborate with other large firms (but presumably not Microsoft) to enforce due diligence in future decisions.
Nope, they don't run Linux, but they do have a shell which in this case is a tortoise/atmosphere interface. OK so it's hardware rather than software but it's suprising how much a tortoise and a computer have in common. If you've got a tired old Celeron like me, you'll even find they 'run' about as fast!
As your nickname is clearly derived from Frank Herbert, I assume that your comment re my post is ironic. I was just trying to make an amusing point about the (to me) deplorable way the Japanese view whales (ie as food) and extrapolate that into an appropriately space/sci-fi framework.

Look like fluorescent lights? Great, just install one next to each lamp and it can power itself. Oh, hang on, that won't work, will it? DOH!
Not a problem with bacteria....I mean how much can a single cell actually eat? Re my Sig, you must have a really weedy dog!
What, you get NEWS in your local paper? Lucky you, all we get are ads for double glazing firms! If you need double glazing, come to Nottingham.

That was a good Troy at a Star Trek reference!
You must be thinking of Charlton Heston in The Omega Man. He also starred in Touch of Evil which is nothing to do with Google, obviously.
Re Gmail being beta, does this mean when it's 'finished' it will be Alpha mail?

I have submitted one today....go to the firehose and mod it up!
Sounds like it will be easier than ever to ring the Wong number!
Please, no more science raps. The LHC by Alpinekat is pretty unbeatable anyway. What next, a programming language? I can't wait for the C-rap!

I didn't mean to make two unkind comments about this...can someone mod me down as redundant or something. Sorry, Muad'Dave!
You know, it really irritates me when a writer feels that they must 'cross-reference' other works to come up with a nickname!

If the Japanese actually do this, can we expect to be dining on
Bandersnatchi steaks in the terminus Restaurant?
So, maybe dead trees have there uses after all. They wouldn't 'go up in smoke', wood they?
Yuk !!!!!
Of course, today 'Bristol Fashion' is more likely to refer to Alaskan maternity wear!
It's Bristol Fashion, I believe. See http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/ship-shape%20and%20Bristol%20fashion.html
The correct link is http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/-/1/hi/sci/tech/7602968.stm. Don't know how that happened...possibly censored by thr Chinese?

I am fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques....
Oh God! It's true then. Now where are those Microsoft terrorists/freedom fighters?
