Really? I don't think you are being fair. As I understand this there ARE laws about on the job injuries and ways to obtain such compensation from employers both by enforcement agencies and civil lawsuits.
I am being fair, even if a little sarcastic (plenty of commenters here think that injury liability is against a free and open market). There are laws but they aren't being enforced. Amazon has been investigated how many times in how many states? And what's come of it?
I don't suppose it means anything to you that fascism is a far-right wing terminology, opposed to liberalism, is supportive of ultranationalism (like don't dare do the wrong thing at sporting events as an athlete), etc. How this sounds like the Democrats I have no idea.
So you're a new startup and you're just putting together a new social network. Not only do you have to pile on interoperability onto that limited budget, but if you're actually innovating you have to come up with a way for people to clone your innovative idea and give the big companies a way to steal all your users.
Adobe CS is a terrible example. I have a 7-year old suite that runs fine. And I use it professionally. My last version before that was only a 4 year gap, but that's because I bought 5.5 knowing they'd be going subscription-only soon.
Nobody waits 5 years to review product and by then the review would be worthless anyway. How would you know it's due to prematurely fail in 3 more years?
It's easy to be a verified purchase if you're already set up as a seller. Just quickly list something under that competing ASIN as a seller, have a shill account buy it from yourself, and now you're a "verified" reviewer. And since you are buying from yourself, you don't even have to ship the real thing.
Companies intentionally move jobs to lower cost of living areas so that they can pay employees less.
I wish there was more of that. There's no reason to add to population density that's already out of control and there are a lot of other great places to live than Silicon Valley. And companies really should be smart enough to find a productive way to spend less on employees rather than just paying badly in a high-rent area.
If you can still use outdated, insecure Windows you can still use outdated, insecure Lubuntu. I see no difference here. Neither will run recent versions of Chrome/Chromium or Firefox. Neither get security updates.
Once maybe. If you screw up by being poor and having a few overdrafts, reporting agencies like ChexSystems can get you more or less blacklisted. Most banks refer to this agency or another when opening a checking account. You can be denied a simple checking account.
You would need even more financial regulation to enable that. As it stands, it's not just non-citizens who can't open a bank account. There are a large number of poor people who are ineligible for a bank account due to poor credit (which is a side effect of being poor).
One of Google's. I can't answer the reason why it was subtle, but I can answer in what way it was subtle. It was translucent and showed a half turn with curved arrows when it detected you were in portrait. Well now I have to see if I can find it.

Yeah, it's free if you pay for it.
This is the free market at work. Exactly as intended by the corporations in charge.
They had a position of trust/authority and it possibly was an advantage or source of insider knowledge. Similar to President or ex-sysadmin.
You've been wooshed, good night.
They didn't say it was good. Just that they have different problems.

Governments are already on Enterprise and are probably paying monthly now. This is to finally force that on the end consumer.
I don't expect to be fighting a war in Montreal any time soon. I think the military is OK.
Have you tried Monoprice? If anyone has a heavier duty cable for less money that still meets spec, it's them.

Maybe their copy. Good luck finding everyone else with a copy.

If you're criticizing and not taking legal action, it makes precisely no difference at all.

Here's a screen grab:

Only if you're being pedantic.
Yeah, I'll just go and mount my TV vertically then.
At least one of their apps had an animated icon subtly indicating you should turn the phone 90 before recording. I can't remember which one.
And yet there are all sorts of ways to allow or even encourage a de facto monopoly without violating that federal law.
