You forgot to mention Hasbro. Other than that, good job.
GenCon was not very crowded, considering the number of peeps attending. I was kind of surprised to see so many implements of mayhem for sale.
Chaosium was present and accounted for, celebrating their 30th anniversary. Their booth was adjacent to WOTC and the occupants would shout insults at WOTC from time to time.
It was nice to see that Micro$oft put in an appearance. Their booth gave the WOTC folks something to think about, size-wise. OK, someone to look up to?
I attended several of the free seminars on writing and game design, which were a little better than mediocre. The seminar by GDW was very good, far and away better than most, and well worth going to.
Ohio and lower Michigan, that's where. There are enough food animals in these states to support a large predator or six, and once a lion uses a grade school field trip for a snack the resulting donneybrook between 2A groups on both sides of the eternal debate, enviromentalists, PETA and various other sub-groups will keep americans glued to the evening news for months. Tourism will probably spike so far off the chart that the five S-36 government systems in Columbus will crash.
Actually, we don't gotta. If we do find a way to 'split the baby', as you so eloquently put it, the politicians will quickly run out of things to scream at each other about. The phrases "Oppressive Bigot!" and "Baby killing Commie!" come to mind.
Without this argument, the general public might notice the man behind the screen and what he's up to.
"I should note the picture of the Vietnamese man summarily executing a Vietnamese prisoner is an RVN (US puppet government) official shooting an suspected NLF prisoner, polls show young Americans often think it's the reverse."
If they think so, it's because that's what they've been told by school teachers who want to rewrite history.
"the Ohio National Guard shot four students dead"
The Ohio National Guard fired into the air, over the heads of the protesters, who were throwing rocks and bottles at the RETREATING National Guard. Admittedly shooting into the air was a stupid thing to do, because all that lead has to land somewhere.
Your post suggests that the NG killed four protesters. They didn't. The truth is bad enough, so why lie about it?
And while I'm at it, don't even bring up the so-called atrocities committed by the US against the VC. The things the US did, including My Lai, were nothing compared to what the VC did to their own people and to any US soldiers captured by the VC. The VC were and are creative in a way the Spanish Inquisition would have envied.
You can find qualified people if you want them. In your case prospective employees must be local to the area (Only local candidates please! No others need apply.) so even if I'm highly qualified and want to move to the area, I'm SOL. The idiots in personel will ding my resume before anyone in IT gets a chance to look it over.
Most people in the US hate oppression and are willing to help the oppressed. You take your average dictator with his army of gestapo, and you just know he's not going to be happy with the idealistic US.
The terrorists attacking the United States are motivated by religious zeal. We breath and, by and large, worship at a Christian church. Our existence is an affront to them, and they weren't targeting the people in the USA, they'd find some other group to hate. These are the people that eat their own when other food cannot be found, and the leaders are well aware of this.
Consider the news that isn't fit to print from Iraq. Iraq citizens welcome US soldiers and offer them tea. They thank us for removing a psychotic, brutal dictator and his régime of thugs. They support the US, and why not? They are now out from under the sandal of Sadam.
But this is a bad thing, right? Because in liberating the oppressed, we offended a bunch of Arabs. Shame on us.
I think I'll take the rest of the day off, get full of whiskey and play with my gun collection.
The high school lunch menu for my district is published online, so I reviewed it the other day. It's crap. What isn't deep fried mystery meat and the vending machine special is catered Papa John's Pizza. I have no reason to believe that things are any better in Atlanta. Now, thanks to modern technology and a sense of humor, parents can watch their little darlings shoveling this crap down their respective slop chutes instead of some alternate fat that they sneak from the vending machine, McVomit's or the local 7/11.
Forget teaching anything, like privacy or the bill of rights. Forget about a healthy diet, because even if the chow at home is healthy (and it probably isn't) the slop at school negates any benefit from home. But what really makes me irate is that the same administration that subscribed to this insanity absolutely forbid a parent to observe class in session in the public school.
The only real solution these days is to send your children to a good private school, if you can afford it and if you can find such a school, or home school your kids. If they're at home, they can get a decent lunch, and the parent won't have to take the time to watch lunch room videos.
I don't see the hammer falling either. According to our experts, "Offered for sale on the websites were pornography, pills, pirated software and fake fancy watches."
Well, let's see. If the porn is against the law, why isn't the MA atty. general obtaining a court order to shut down the retailer, wholesale distributor and producer? Then there's pills, of no specified type. Pirated software is Micro$oft's problem. Let Gates hire a few leg breakers and handle it.
But those fake fancy watches, now... I had one of those once. I thought it was a Rolex until my wrist turned green. Then I discovered the fake fancy watch wouldn't keep time correctly, so I missed class again. Then my girl friend saw that I was wearing a fake fancy watch instead of a real fancy watch and denounced me as a cheapskate redneck with no class and left me for a delivery boy, and my pickup truck got repossessed, and my Mom hates me, and my dog bit me on the leg, and...
well, I've had enough of those fake fancy watches. They're dangerous!
It isn't. It can be plainly seen that this is a plot created by Hallmark working in conjunction with AARP. Think happy birthday to your fifth cousin three times removed either way.
In our school district a parent has to get permission from the teacher and school administration before the parent can monitor a class and see what is being taught and how well. Of course, none of the teachers I spoke with would allow a parent to sit silently in the back and observe.
This was even true for phys. ed. I spoke with a phys. ed. instructor who informed me that "parents might cause trouble" so none were welcome.
These are the same teachers that complain the parents aren't involved enough in the child's education.
If the news media is to be believed it would seem that any and all electronic documents of this nature - log files, etc. - are accepted at face value, while in reality the documents in question are only text files that could be fabricated by anyone with a text editor and a sense of humor.
Only in sunny Cal at Berkley could someone come up with a completely unworkable idea that might be implemented at a cost of billions of US dollars.
If the US were serious about protecting planes from being hijacked, the pilots would be armed. Two shotguns in the cockpit and the option to carry a concealed weapon. End of story.
Yeah, thanks for the tip. I'm about blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.
and your kids aren't cute or talented, either.

Sounds better every time I hear it...
I fail to understand why you bothered to write a message when the title says it all.
ROFL! That's rich!

Yeah, and when he injects that goodness via the backdoor, tell him to use a bucket of sand to make it fit better.

Real wrong.

That sounds like an item from the Shark Tank. If you haven't got your T-shirt, go ahead and submit it.
