    Is it better than owning the DVD?

    Obviously the answer is no, because you don't own the movie. This is not an attempt at replacing the home dvd market. It's and attempt at improving the home dvd rental market.

    You don't want to wait for the mail.

    I have netflix, and I've been known to fo to Blockbuster and rent a movie from time to time because I require instant gratification. I have to know what happens next in the series. I've also watched my movies and then had a friend that wanted to come over and watch a movie. In this situation, I've gone to rent a movie. Waiting for the mail was not a valid option to solve my wants.

    I guess in my case, I normally know the person somewhat before I start dating. I don't meet strangers and start dating them right away. I place the get to know them phase before dating them phase. But hey, if you date people that you don't even know their name, more power to you.

    if Google profits or not, does not mean it costs me anything.

    As far as Adds go, they exist all over, regardless if I'm using a Google Product or not. Poeple "steal" that from me all of the time, at least using a Google product I'm getting something for it.

    Having to look at an Add does not equal having to pay for something. An exception to that might be if you regularly get paid ot look at Adds I guess.

    Funny, I checked my wallet and bank account and no where do I see those adds taking money out. Hmm, maybe the advertisers pay for those adds so that I can use those services for free. I'll have to call them and verify this outlandish claim.

    Driving to work every day in stop and go traffic, I cannot count the number of times that I've stopped breaking at a safe distance so I could get closer to the car in front of me so the driver behind me would not slam into me because they were not paying attention.

    Something that would have forced me ot stop at a safe distance would have resulted in me getting hit from behind. Sure, it would not have been my fault, but I'd still have to deal with the mess and headache.

    Interesting. I understand your not wanting to deal with the mess left over form an accident, however, I feel her not wanting ot wear a seatbelt. An odd thing ot break up over. How did you get to the point of dating if you could break up over a seatbelt?

    What are their complaints from XP to Vista? Hearing all of the bad press about Vista, I was not excited to "upgrade" when I purchased a new Laptop. However, having use it for a few months now, I have not come accross any real problems with it. It was a little different then was I was used to, but everything works.

    More of a brain-disengaging time-killer if you ask me.

    Kind of like TV then?

    I take it you're not including the $150/week you'll be paying your shrink in about 5 years when you realize that the obsessive/addictive disorder that's led you to become a complete recluse from the "real" world has forced you to seek help because you can't finish school/hold a job/maintain a healthy family life.

    This person you speak of sounds like they would have social issues no matter if they played mmo's or not. They are obviously looking for an out for life, instead of living it.

    Hell, because of things like team speak and ventrillo, they are probably getting more social interaction because of playing MMO's then they would if they were not playing them.

    To be honest, things may have changed in the last 6 years since I've had my check book stole (Can't you tell I'm bitter?). I called the checks in stolen and no money was ever taken out of my account. However, I've run into problems because they wrote bad checks at a lot of places (Target beign one), who have tried to come after me for the money.

    But that does not stop Target from accepting those checks in a different state and then reporting that you are a bad check writer. Sure, you can clear the matter up after writing a letter and showing proof that you were nto the one to write the check. Btu when someone steals your check book and then goes around writing checks to 10 different stores, it's a bit annoying.

    Once you make the phone call for the Debit/Credit card it does not matter where they go, your worry is over.

    You know, the poor guy who barely has enough money to live because the only job he can get is as a waiter. If he manages to clone the data, and get some money to another account (perhaps with the help of a friend).

    Sound a little paranoid to me. Plus, if ithis did happen, you'd call your bank and they would reverse the charges. Better to have someone steal your Bankcard then yoru Check book.

    While some may think Ubuntu or any other OS is better then Windows for thi stask, it is not really "insightful" or helpful in regards to answering the question at hand.
