The real problem of course is the fact that the router manufacturers don't actually support dynamic DNS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_DNS.... I almost returned mine cause the box said DynamicDNS but meant dyndns - only thing stopping me was my research which told me that's what most of them call Dynamic DNS.
we already have copies of the manuscript in our clutches - but we only distribute them to registered users who know the secret handshake, and who have passed the secret initiation rite!
Yeah - you don't want someone unknowledgeable about the world at large, who steals elections, who unilaterally invades contries and who warantlessly spies on their own citizens to have an a-bomb......
He can't even get basic facts right. One example:
he say that CENTR is "an organisation representing the majority of the world's top-level domains".
this is crock - they represent their members, around 50 TLD's (http://www.centr.org/members/) - that's not even a simple majority of TLD (around 260 - see http://www.iana.org/cctld/cctld-whois.htm for some of them).
Read what this guy writes with a pinch of salt - he can't even get basic facts right.
If they refused to take their software back after agreeing to, I'd simply make an ISO image (or some other easily distributable form) and post it, so that others can see their crud before they get bitten by the same scum tactics.
you might want to drown your lawyer before using this as anything like advice.
One of the nice things about free-software is the fact that I don't have to worry about big brother pounding at the door. The RHEL Subscription agreement contains the following worrysome provision: 4. REPORTING AND AUDIT.
Which gives you the right to come knocking on my door with 10 days notice, and if I've accidently messed up, to knock whenever you want to.
Further more, it commits me to keeping absolute track of installed systems, and matching that precisely (or making sure I have more licences) to installed systems. This means that my developers can't experiment with non-production machines or try things out at home on their weekends (they're a bit fanatical that way). Personally, for me, and the organisations I run, this is a deal breaker. It means we're going to be moving (and all our current mission critical production systems are on the RHN).
Which brings me to my question: Are you going to say goodbye, or are you going to rethink this one clause? We were looking at moving to RHEL (once it had caught up), but not with clauses like that.
Come to think of it, My Mosquito has failed on me once:) Put me into dive mode for the whole weekend (Till I could get the thing back to the distributors on Monday). They simply changed the battery:) I know of one other person who also had this happen to them. Anyone know of any others who've had similar problems?
sheesh - talk about guessing.
Has anyone actually taken out their computers alongside their tables and actually compared the dives you can do with each.
On the same profile, and consequently the same depth at the same time, I could never get the same dive on my computers (2, yeah, I would never trust just one) that I can get on tables. All the computer does is give me credit for when I'm not as deep as what the table say.
the energy produced by your brain is far more that the intake your body uses. at least when you get to psycho-kinetic reasoning. especially when you throw in a little LSD.
"Who can give a guarantee that nobody tampers with the results or creates a database with citizens voting information?"
Why - the same people who guarantee that a normal election is not rigged - these things are auditable, and so what if the techniques employed might have to change slightly, but certainly the methodology doesn't have to.
Or are we now making the mistake of saying the Internet introduces new things that havn't been around before - again - *sigh*.
Visited my gran earlier today - then went and had lunch with family - spent some time in my cousin's new pool. Girlfriend and myself just packed the diving gear and tomorrow we hit Umkomaas to dive Aliwal Shoal, one of the best dive sites in the world.
Gonna basically blow Friday off work, and do the stuff I need to on Monday.
Can't wait to see the sharkies and taste that compressed air in the lungs at 30 meters:)
Love the Summer here in South Africa.

ICANN Voting Begins

A careful analysis of the ICANN board might be in order. And if I have anything to do with it, ICANN will not be run by 'big business'.
And I'm not the only ICANN candidate who reads/.
(At least I hope I'm not).
Can't remember where I parked my star class death star..... Did I go on a bender last night.... time to lay off the sauce.
What the subject says.
Seriously... this is like a very mobile activity... if the US doesn't want these services, we'll take 'em...

What's the poll?
I use a Dlink dns 323 see http://wiki.dns323.info/ for storing all my video/photo's/music.
Then I use the uPnP client on my samsung C6900 46" LED to watch stuff downloaded to the DNS323.
My nokia e52 can handle audio streaming, as can the linux machines around the house.
For PVR functionality, I use a Zotac ION - checkout http://techreport.com/articles.x/16893 .
I think my home entertainment is getting there :-)
we are so clever!

oh shite!
you think ICANN controls the root?
Think again - but take a look at http://www.isoc.org/briefings/019/ first
DNS is delegated - and that delegation is absolute - the parent can only remove the child and not individual entries in it.

wow - can't believe someone else actually listened to Quite Riot through their Atari 400.
was lucky enough to win a 130XE in a competition after submitting hundreds of entries. bank switching in the extra ram was fun....

to do it in alphabetical order?
Kewl, lets rock and roll.
So where do I send my defense fund contribution?

of course, this was just a rip-off of 'softporn adventure' that I originally played on the apple ][ (but without the graphics).
until, of course, you take a trip to the good ole US of A. Say, on a vacation or conference, or ... or your country gets occupied?

It's quite simple - by doing this, Network Solutions keeps their market share, instead of giving it up to the competing registrars out there........
