Differing definitions of local? I live in a (small) city, and I can buy quite a few things from local shops that are hard to come by online, either because searching is difficult (some electronics parts) or the product isn't really easy to deliver in small quantities (artisan cheese). If you're talking about local in terms of a shitty small town then you probably have one shop that does it's best, but it's never going to stock very much is it?
Come on, Reddit's not far off going the same way. It's getting continually worse. Not sure what's going to make it unusable first, reposts, political junk or boring pictures of "OP and web celebrity"...
It's nothing to do with the fact that at that time it also had a rapidly rising population and some totally unexploited resources? Your anti-government schtick is pretty overwhelming...
Hahaha, funny how you Americans hate the MSM when it says things you don't agree with. A single example of one doctor doing something stupid is what we call an anecdote. I live in the UK, you are talking garbage.
That's exactly how it works in the UK, you can pay for private care if you want, but who would? Only an idiot as the free care is excellent and it's obvious that once you start paying for health care it's the thin edge of the wedge that will try and drive us to American healthcare hell.
Any driver with half a clue should know to within 5 mph how fast they are going at any given time just by sight, those with more experience should be able to tell from the sound of the engine and the gear you're in.
I drove for several months with a broken speedo cable, besides being slightly nervous near police I had no problems at all.
If I remember correctly Youtube forces you to give phone number to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, I had quite happily avoided giving them mine up tu that point, but I really needed to share that video...
Steve Ballmer has guaranteed that a Microsoft product with these features will be on the market within the year, and that this Google product is "not what the market wants, laughable in fact!" watch this space!
Basically free energy from the Sun, tides and wind involve a lower standard of living? Leading by example means nothing to you? Making these technologies realistic so they can easily be used by other countries isn't possible? You are the most tedious kind of fool, "why should I change? Why should we even try?" pathetic.

Can you recommend any good sites for a right wing homophobe to visit these days?

Thanks AC, I really couldn't be bothered countering those points myself! Pointing out the obvious to the willfully ignorant is so laborious!
It's the definition of privatisation!
I'm sure you're trolling but the Triassic Permian extinction is suspected to have been caused by by excess CO2.

You Islamophobia is pretty abhorrent, just as well white people never did anything bad.
Hope you won't be too disappointed when it runs smoothly for years.
Or maybe lost track of what society means if you (collectively) let it get into that state?

Not how it works in the UK. Or Canada.

"implementing idiotic populist socialist policies"

I hate those politicians that do what people want. Unless those people are corporations.

Do you all work together at being unemployed?
The BBC is independent, if you don't believe this search for Jeremy Paxman and see how much regard the BBC gives our elected ministers.
"People visit Facebook and Twitter (and others) because they want to and they like to. Employees go to Yammer because they HAVE to. Bleh."
Sounds like the perfect Microsoft acquisition.
Assuming the "Invention" and the patent is legitimate and not some rubber stamped "touch a file on a touch screen to open it" type nonsense.

Other banks, they finally decided to cut out the middleman, it's more efficient.

Good luck significantly shifting the ratio of Oxygen or Nitrogen in the atmosphere...
Worst case scenario? Like running out of oil and gas?
