I think you just dont care about this loss because you dont really like driving.

I'm probably going to get down-voted for this, but I think creating a space force is a good idea. I think the idea that humans will venture out into space, and miraculously leave warfare behind is completely unrealistic. We should be prepared for the eventuality.

In addition to that, a lot of the resulting technology and infrastructure will have civilian applications as well; Its a win-win if you're invested in seeing humans take to the stars. ..Now if you don't care about that, then yeah waste of money I guess; just like going to the moon was.

From the article it sounds like the improvement might be due to a carbon fiber plate they added to the length, which acts like a spring for your toes. Very cool.

It seems stupid, until youve played like 200 hours, and youve only spent 15 bucks on the game. At that point its like "why not spend another 5 bucks to get something cool that you want?" The game is still practically free in terms of money per hour of gameplay. The only difference with fortnight is that its *literally* free up until that point.

Watch the crash video. When they show the driver, you can see those strings of lights that are overhead in your video far in the background. Now watch the crash part. No hint whatsoever of those light strings; there's no way a simple brightness adjustment would completely removes those. They clearly were not present in the stretch of road where the crash happened.

Generally I agree with you, but let me give you a counter point to this:

I hear this with oil companies, that there is no choice. Sure there is. It's that the choice to do without their products is not nearly as pleasant as using their products.

In a free market this is true, but lets talk real world. The oil company has money, and they can use that money to influence legislation. Lets say, like the cable companies, they lobbied congress and got a bunch "certifications" written into law that put all the smaller oil competitors out of business, so now they've got a monopoly on oil and gasoline in your town. And they decide they're going to charge 10 bucks a gallon. And lets say you have a family and whatnot, so "going off the grid" isn't a option for you. Is this really any different than the government forcing you to use that oil company? ..I get that in a roundabout way, the government is the one forcing you to use that oil, due to corruption. But what if we assume that any goverment can be corrupted by enough money and effort. Does the blame not start shifting towards the fact that we allow giant organizations to exist that explicitly do not have morals of any kind?

But the book goes on and on and spins all these increasingly crazy stories together until your like "how could they possibly tie this all together" and then after a very loooong read, everything is coming to a head and it just ENDS without resolving or revealing anything.

    1. That's super annoying, there should be some closure at the end of a long novel. And 2. It makes me supect that it *cant* actually be tied together, and im just going to get strung along for another 1000 pages. ..so I'm not going to read the next one.
