    Wow ! Is like MS is trying as hard as possible to convince people not to buy/use XP !!!

    Also, anybody know if this thing pops up for broadband connections ? If so, when does it pop up ?

    Well, I don't agree with the arrest of Sklyarov, but I think you missed the point of the original post.

    The products you sited and not illegal in the US (even the gun), but yes they are regulated.

    Under the stupid DMCA, Sklyarov's program is just illegal, so yes, it would seem he would be breaking that stupid law if he was selling it.

    That's what the DMCA does, and that's why it should be struck down. Selling a gun is less dangerous than this program under current law, what a travesty !

    Funny, I don't see the government shutting down the version of the presbiterian church that accepts homosexuality. Nor, shutting down the churches with openly gay ministers.

    It's easy to throw accustations around, it's pretty hard to back them up though.

    More to the point: an enemy ICBM launched toward the United States has a big, flaming return address stamped on it. Any nation foolhardy enough to attack in such a manner would, for all intents and purposes, cease to exist thirty minutes later.

    That's true, but what if the leader doesn't care if all it's people get whiped out ?

    Or even more plausible , what if a military "launch base" is taken over by a terrorist organization ? Sounds like a good way to hurt the US and wipe out an enemy country at the same time !

    Remind me to invent a virus that could kill off all americans.. might be kinda hard though, with all the races involved. I'll look for genes containing self-centered, paranoid, arrogant and megalomanious behavior, that should do it.

    A virus to kill all "Americans" ? What did Brazil , Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Canada, and the rest of the Americas do to you ?

    Anyways, you'll have a tough time getting your virus to work because we're not the Borg over here as you already noted on the racial front, but also on the opinions one too. Weird that you assume all or most people here have those traits ?

    Complaints about US human rights abuses are nothing against the ones from China, so please, there is NO comparison.

    Do remember that there is no freedom of religion, a real freedom of the press, and other things that are basic rights in China.

    And let's not even get into the selling of organs mess going on down there.

    I think there is a lot of truth in your post, with the major point being objection to the content.

    While salon.com has some articles of interest, they usually just lean "left" most of the time (whatever that means), and offer little intelligent articles explaining the "other side".

    As a non-extremist, I'd like to see different views, not propaganda. To me salon.com is just as absurd as it's opposite twin newsmax.com, why a person would trust "investigative" journalism from sites with political agendas will always escape me.

    To recoup those costs, they have to make money. That's a simple fact of life of the capitalist society in which we live.

    I believe in making money for software, I just prefer emulators to be free, like the dozens of emulators out there for machines like Atari, Coleco, Apple II, etc.

    All I said was they get no symphaty from me, not that there should be a law against what they're doing. Geez !

    They have costs involved in coding them

    MAME team does too, and theirs is a more robust and complicated product. Bleem must be doing something wrong ! :-)

    If i wanted JAVA on the PS2 i'd buy a PC. Hell, i have one.

    You do that, I for one, can't wait make some cool games for it and play it on my TV while showing off to friends. I'm hoping they port the 1.4 VM which has better J2D support and fullscreen mode.

    This is going to be too cool !

    I don't listen to CDs on my PS2, but I've been watching DVD movies on it for some time now, and love it. No need to waste money on a DVD player, when I already have a game machine that does that.

    The messages had quotes and matters relating to Scientology, so I guess the judge felt that would prejudice the jury.

    In addition, keep in mind, that they were not allowed to mention Scientology at all in the trial, so the defense couldn't even explain why Henson was opposing this "Church".

    Did jurors didn't even know the "Church" in question here was Scientology.

    They didn't even get to hear, why this guy was picketing against them. For all they know, he was picketing the local Synagoge or burning crosses in front of a black Church.

    Hopefully, with him being in Canada, this case can get more national press and expose the DA & the Judge in this case. What the heck are they doing ?!?!?!?

    If you want to maintain a strong sense of Hyperbole, might I recommend instead using non-existent science-fiction weapons? Threaten to use a Death Star or anti-matter weapons. Perhaps you should add a further touch of the comedic by threatening somebody with a 747 full of rabid weasels.

    Uh, last time I checked, "Tom Cruise Missiles" was a non-existent weapon.

    You are correct.

    The DA & the Scientology lawyer somehow convinced the judge to not allow the full thread nor context of the posts to be used.

    Why was the DA working WITH the Scientology lawyers ???

    This is a criminal case, you don't get to "parter up" with the other lawyers when you are the DA in this manner. Very strange.

    Also, Keith's motivations for picketing and posting $cientology criticism were not allowed either.

    From the point of view of the jurors, Keith just hated these "religious" people for theheck of it, and from that one quote, he did seem obsessed with weapons.

    What a miscarriage of justice !
