The proposal as I read it was to take a small, random subset to begin with. Why sense 10MP and discard 8MP when you can sense 2MP and get a full, almost perfect 10MP shot afterwards?

All of which would likely increase activity of which neuro-transmitter? Did anyone say dopamine? And what else increases dopamine activity? More witches! Err, no. Certain classes of drugs, illicit or otherwise. And depression is provably related to imbalances in norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine. I'd love to get a real biologist's take on this research.
Negative! Some very effective ad-blockers work by modifying your computer's DNS entry to a given ad-serving domain so that it will appear as though the server does not exist. This works regardless of what sort of content is being served.
On the general topic at hand: I have found that, while ads are getting creepier as to how much they clearly know about you, they are getting to be more useful to me personally. "Got an iPhone? Like chocolate? Work in IT? Buy our combination iPhone case, chocolate bar, VPN token generator!"
Sorry if I came across the wrong way. Your comment sounded like: "I want it all, I want it now, and I want to not do any work whatsoever." I can see now that this is not your attitude. In light of that, my comment re: geekiness clearly missed the mark. Had that been your attitude though, all I meant by it was: if you want something to do what it does not yet do, find a way to make it do that, don't merely complain and expect that someone else will give you a magic bullet every time.
Agreed! Free will, with which we have been endowed (against which some will argue) is a wonderful thing that demonstrates whether or not we are willing to live according to standards other than those that we ourselves have set. It also moves us to recognize that the same applies to others - their free will is their own with which to do as they please.
READ THE SUMMARY. Like, the part where it talks about prices across "the country." As in, the country that the named companies operate in, i.e. the USA.
I sincerely hope that it is not commonly held opinion that the Bible is "written about him [Adam]." He is the first human that the Bible describes, and mention is made of him also in the Christian Greek scriptures, but the Bible is about much more than simply Adam.
Star Trek had replicators too, but they were stationary units that 'replicated' various physical objects/materials that a crew member might need. They were commonly seen in the dining areas where one could order whatever form of food or drink the computer had stored the recipes for. It would convert pure energy into matter of the right specification. After a person was done with their utensils and/or dishes they would put them in a special spot to be reclaimed into energy later.
Perhaps the mods misunderstood my point. In a war, almost inevitably, both warring groups believe themselves to be in the right. This is exacerbated by the fact that patriotism (or party politics, or tribal pride, etc.) is elevated to the level of, I'll say it again: worship.
You can mod me how you like, but it will be difficult to deny that which I've stated.
I love that they separated all of the other vile forms of pornography and put them at the end, while child pornography got first billing. It's amazing what being a poster-child (no pun intended) of online criminality can do for an activity's reputation.
What do 'short shrift' and 'misjoinder' mean, in english?
And before someone gets smart and says 'let me google that for you,' I already have.. it still doesn't make sense to me:
Misjoinder
An incorrect union of parties or of causes of action in a procedure in criminal or civil court
Shrift
the act of being shriven
Shriven
shrive - To hear or receive a confession (of sins etc.); To prescribe penance or absolution; To confess, and receive absolution

Are you sure you didn't mean to quote this part:
shoulder pads, big hair, jackets with sleeves rolled up, zip-up shoes (remember Ciaks?), scraps of brightly fabric tied everywhere, puffy shirts, skinny leather neckties, faux military uniforms, solitary white gloves
Seems more GaGa to me. YMMV.
Reasons you would place a touch-sensitive device onto a static surface:
And there are plenty of other things you could use it for.. this is just a starter list. :)

Actually, users installing Windows (or leaving Windows installed) on a computer of their choosing is effecting Microsoft's bottom line.
Obligatory XKCD: http://xkcd.com/326/
Oh wait, there *is* a better word. Frigtards.
FTFY :)
* Tethering
* Voice Dial
My Fricken Razr can do these things.
A) Jailbreak (http://blackra1n.com/)
B) I have a 3GS, and it most certainly does have Voice Dialing.
Aren't geeks supposed to be knowledgeable and have a penchant for solving perceived problems through creative methods?

Thank goodness for controlled cell death.
When will this egregious practice of planned cell abortion finally be ended?! Cells are living things too!
Disclaimer: while the above is definitely a joke, I firmly oppose abortion; doing so on the ground of ethics and morality based on Bible principles.
Dear "outsourcing" naysayers..

Imitation +1 Funny Mod. Now with half the calories!
In before the correlation-is-not-causation trolls.

IIRC the Guitar controllers use AA batteries, not 9V.
Nonetheless, your post was funny. :)
I'm not educated in the ways of electricity, so I don't know which one of these contradicts you, but I'll let someone smarter than me pick:
Either way, it most certainly is NOT 100% efficient.
I don't think much thought has been put in this by NASA.
Lol.

Nationalism == Worship. There is no aggressor or victim, there are only "us" and "them."

Yes, mmhmm. How does that make you feel?
My apologies for sucky google-fu. Thank you for the clarification O Anonymous one.
