    FYI, Those vending machines are now iliegal. As well at no point were they ever "normal". Granted they may still exist in some shady locations but they are not on ever street corner as is often implied.

    L4D may have strong multiplayer but it also has strong single player.

    Now if Valve wanted to steal customers they would have given them Team Fortress 2. At which point they wouldn't have needed to reverse the bans since the players would be too busy collecting hats to notice.

    The G20 meeting was in Canada this year. To clarify, Canada is not a part of the "US".

    Now with that said I too doubt such a weapon was really used. Although considering how much the cops messed up, I wouldn't put it past them.

    It should be mentioned that MediaCoder is in the ffmpeg hall of shame: http://www.ffmpeg.org/shame.html (I cannot link any more direct because ffmpeg's bug tracker uses a self signed cert)

    Judging from the related bug tracker the author appears to almost be playing dumb.
    I agree that it is a fine program and I myself have suggested it to non-tech savy friends, but that doesn't mean I feel good about doing so.

    No, none of the Sims or Sim City games looked like that. It looks like an infomercial game. Notice the oil tanker, the game is likely a BP marketing asset. Now lets try and guess if the placement was deliberate.

    Actually I and others expect you to know it not because you should know British English but because "*something* is pants" is a partly a Slashdot meme. It dates back to an article run not too long ago in which a man set his banking password to "lloyds is pants", someone at Lloyds didn't really like this and changed it to "is not". So I guess all I really have to say is, "You must be new here."
