Especially bad since GPS in itself uses loads of power. When I turn on the GPS on my Nokia N82 the battery is flat after just a couple of hours. Having to transmit data over 3G won't make it better.
It's just a matter of time before we start seeing reverse CAPTCHA's: Text that is so hard to read that only a computer can do it. If you copy the text correctly you are a spambot.
The more I think of it, the weirder it gets. If those arrows were to have the energy of an A-bomb, the energy had to come from somewere, namely the rockets that brought them into orbit. With, say, a battery of 6 arrows, the rocket would have to have the energy of 6 atomic bombs! Isn't that a bit unrealistic?
I dont quite get it... They are supposed to be dropped from a sattelite and fall to earth with the power of a nuclear weapon... But if you drop them, won't they just remain in orbit? Or will a tiny push be enough to get them down to earth?
No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do:
* They replicate quickly - okay, Windows does that.
* Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so - okay, Windows does that.
* Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk - okay, Windows does that too.
* Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems. Sigh... Windows does that, too.
* Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware. Yup, that's with Windows, too.
Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences:Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature.
No, Windows might not be that expensive - but even then, I would much rather buy a PC with Linux or no OS at all than buy one with Windows, even if I had to pay 100-200$ more! It's the priciple...
AFAIK, cover versions aren't illegal, and you don't need the creators accept to record one.
Why does it have to be a dry-sump system? Wouldn't it work equally well with an electric pump on a normal wet-sump system?
That's not possible where I live. The windows are frozen in place and cannot be opened for the first 5-10 minutes.
It's quite common on metal-chassis laptops. I've also experienced it on Dells and HP's.
Really? I had no idea Western Digital did that kind of thing!
I think Lenovo beat them to it with the x300. Also, the first eee pc's all came with ssd's.

Taken from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"...
So would you say that a Segway is wearable?

Ha! I can prove that the cube could have been solved 25 moves ago! Beat that!
What has this got to do with exhibitionism?
Sure - some energy could be recovered. But that wouldn't recharge the battery, just make it discharge slower...
(I know - that was probably what he meant anyway)
I must admit that I don't quite see the connection to TFA, but anyway: Would you please either stop doing that or pay my dentist bills?
Wine Is Not an Emulator
It's tricky trying to assault somebody if your face is melting and your hair and clothes are on fire...
Old, but still kinda funny:

So Windows is not a virus.
It's a bug.
