    My heart goes out to the Iranian people, but this is something they have to do for themselves.
    their governement has to learn to respect the people they govern. as one post i read had stated, "we've traded one dictatorship for another".

    if we in the west get involved there will always be accusations of puppets and strings.
    the only way for the Iranian people to earn the respect of those that run the country and the other countries of the region is to do this on their own.

    the worst is yet to come, but i wish them all the courage and strength they may need.

    both myself and my son have/had laptops on that list.
    neither computer had a battery failure, but both have had the powersupply fail.
    last year my son's went out and so we swapped batteries so he could run his long enough to get his data off. then a few weeks ago mine did the exact same thing.

    i just got a new HP. i'll have to check it's battery

    i'm a linux fan as well, but it seems to me you need to be more focused on the hardware than the OS.

    consider:
    power requirements
    conectivity/netowrking
    spare parts/harware failure ,,, ,,

    in this day and age you can find just about what ever software you need for any OS.
    supporting the hardware will be what makes or breaks you.

    i have a few gripes, but all in all i liked it.

    They've already made a point that they are on a different time line as soon as the romulans were sent back and changed it.
    this gives them the power/ability to do everything right that we always wished they had and not do so many of the embarrasing things we wished they hadn't.

    but remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
