    Efficiency is almost always more unstable and stability is almost always achieved at the expense of efficiency.
    Take for example forward swept wings. More efficient, but less stable.
    More common concepts like dihedral, the higher the angle the more stable, but the less efficient.

    typical nose gear includes a wheel which gives you more control but adds weight.

    a skid just keeps the nose off the ground and is probably replaced after each flight.
    if you need to turn or adjust course on landing, you would probably use differencial braking or flight controls.

    about a year and a half ago, the company i was working for sent me to a class to learn a new software package. the class was taught using dell laptops.

    everytime you'd start working on a lesson you'd get zapped.

    i think it's awesome that Apple is doing well.
    it's all about choices and options.
    apple is just another option.

    if someone bought me an Apple i'd use it, but i'd still dual boot to my linux too.

    in the mean time i'm very happy with my Debian/Lenny. everything works and it just keeps getting better.

    about 10 years ago i worked for a company in Austin that was designing a system where everything was remote controlled from chairs that looked more like the command chairs of STNG. pretty slick stuff.

    seems like this was the next step. if anything i'm surprised it took this long.

    there is a growing trend where all Ex's are being paid more and more and the pay for the people who do the work is stagnating.
    many of these Executives never do anything to justify the increases.

    it's all industries though, not any one.
