cool concept, but one thing i'm left wondering after reading is what do they use to stablize the generating station. law of conservation of momentum says that it has to push back. what form of thrust will these space based station use? will they have a land(lunar/earth) based mag-beam to keep it in position?
a little more over all detail would have been nice.
the bulk of the space program needs to be relocated to a location less vunerable to hurricanes. brownsville or corpus christi still get them, but are subjected to far fewer storms.
in the event of a launch falure you would be able to land in florida or the gulf rather than spain/atlantic.
if it is not realistic then they have no business claiming the authority.
seriously, what is the percentage of invalid patents claimed. what would happen to the medical field if we gave them the out of saying, "well there were just too many organs and slimmy squishy things to find the appendix in time"
perhaps this is the front that needs to be taken to get software patents reformed.
IBM is fighting this the only way it can be faught. SCOX has been playing a shell game of issues and evidence. when ever IBM has asked to define the issues or evidence SCOX has moved to the next wallnutshell. what IBM has done is to say to the Court, OK, but they can't go back to that later. one PSJ is bad enough for SCOX, but when they start adding up SCOX starts to run out of wallnuts to use for misdirection. before long they will be sitting at a table with all their nuts smashed.
you are correct. the book, X-Planes has a list of all X-15 flights and lists a number of which earned the pilots astronauts wings, but i forgot the exact number.
this was a test flight. they never intended this to be an offical X-prize flight because they knew stuff like this happens. this is why there was only one person on board. they know what they are doing.
it's not jsut a Linux thing, but applies to the BSDs as well. default setups out of the box are typicly set for newbies. lots of flash and all the bells and whistles.
but that does not mean that you are forever doomed to that setup. even within KDE you can reduce system requirements. if that is not enough, go to a lighter windowmanager. start shutting down unneeded processes. i can still install and run on a 486. but i know what needs to be done.
if anything is needed a better newbie friendly util is needed to allow performance to be set easyly at install, but like i said you alsways have the option.
I'm not convinced that they did not do it themselves to counter the stock drop/bad PR from the posting of the BSD/USL settlement.
the simpathy scam has worked for them time and time again.
and don't tell me they would not do something that dishonest. they've been caught time and time again lying to everyone.
"Data, you are not less perfect than Lor"
that one works.
thank you
see who is giving money to his party.
that is where his efforts will be.
not only is it a good thing it's a feature!

i'd at least be willing to try it.
everyone start your Offical CTO Stop watches.
and what nembers do they show for PCs sold with windows that get reformatted for Linux?
this seems to be much more common to me.
that's gotta hurt
too true
very true.
if i had the mod points, I'd give you one.
What about Galeon?
it is based on Mozilla also.
has it been updated?
it was never a documentry to start.
this is just an excuse.

sign all current and future patents to the EFF.

it means they have violated the copyrights of all the other kernel developers, because nothing else gives them the right to distribute it.
i wanted to mod some of these so bad, but there are a few things that need to be posted.
1. TSCOG claims that they are using source code that IBM never had a licence for.
well, if SCO never made them agree to a license, then why did they give them the code(if they did at all).
2. the wording makes it sound like they still have a valid licence for the older code.
but no one was going to write apps for solaris anyway. it's dead.
you are correct.

i'd still go up too.

any chance of electing Sergio Amadeu in the US?
i'm tired of chosing between the lesser of evils.
