I'm an Engineer in the Aerospace industry. I started out as an Aircraft Mechanic working a flight line. there are many days i'd love to be out on a flight line putting the aircraft back into service. i miss it(except durring the winter), but i've been in Engineering long enough that it would be a terrible pay cut to go back.
in the end i turn to the creative parts that made me enjoy both jobs as hobbies. find an outlet with no deadlines. it will make the work with deadlines go a little easier.
in the imortal words of Douglas Adams, "I love deadlines, especially that whoooshing sound they make as they fly past"
I liked 24 in that it was atleast a new concept, but after awhile it was like going to the dentist and having him step out of the room so long the pain killers wear off.
I have a links page and i add them to it. i've had a few people ask to copy my stuff, and my condition is that they send me the link when they get their site up. although i prefer to be asked, i don't go balistic when they don't. from time to time i do a google search for the image names from my page just to see if there are any new ones. it's kind of fun seeing your work translated into russian, Japanesse, or some other language.
reminds me of the time when someone at a company i worked for accedently set an email to everyone in the company. a small percentage(100 or so) hit reply all and asked not to be sent this email. which created more email. once again a small percentage hit reply all,,,,,. by noon all email and network activity was gound to a halt.
they will shut down the DDOS and the rest of the internet as well.
Although i have no doubt that we will see more Loki like game companies in the future i suspect they will avoid the Loki name like the plague. it would be the curse of death due to their unfortunate demise. it would be like taking a washed up OS comapny and renaming it SCO and expecting to get customers based on that. oh, wait.
seriously, i wish Loki was still was still around just to maintain the old ones that have already been ported. in the mean time we have LGP and i'm sure more will follow.
Wow, a scriptkiddie. that's one thing i've never been accused of being before. that's like when some young 25 year old tries to card me for beer. i just have to laugh. thanks!
no, he has discharged the fire-extinguishers(resources) that he already owned when there was no fire. apparently he did not talk to all his customers. they all do not seem to agree with him. i would be interested if he discussed this with RedHat.
they have been in US published books about space and lunar exploration since i was a kid. years later(early 90s) i was asked to Work(volunteer) for an exibit at the FortWorth Museum of Science and History on Soviet Space. this was a traveling exibit that was making it's way around the US and would eventually find it's way to the Cosmosphere in Hutchenson Ks. the exibit included the backup hardware of the lunokhod(still worked) and sputnik. also included were the return vehicles for Soyuz and other hardware and equipment. all in all it was very impressive. they had some russian techs running the remotes for the lunokhod. i think they got a bigger kick out of it than anyone else.
hey anyone else out there that worked it? i still got my tie!
it makes a difference. Satellite TV has drawbacks. btw you forgot to list whiteout, too much sun light. but, if you are in a rural area many times cable is just as bad or worse. our neighborhood has cable but no one uses it because it is that bad.
the other day at home my wife discovered she had 9 different viri/worms on her windows computer.
I had Zero on my Linux box.
last year we were running AIX at work. reboots were once every 6 months.
now we have windows. we reboot 6 times a day.
i'll stick with what works. it's not windows.
shame, i'll miss Andromeda. Mutant X always looked cool, but i never got into the storyline.

Farewell Sun.
you were not saints, but you will be missed.
what you did give back will not be forgotten.

FOX and all the other networks have ditch any show worth watching and replaced them with sitcoms and reality tv.
my tv is reduced to sundays(Andromeda, Enterprise, Alias) nothing else worth watching.
i'm considering reverting to comicbooks
NOooooo!
it's AT&T all over again!
stop it!

"He checks into hotels under assumed names. "
Mrs McB: Tell me again why you were in that hotel under a fake name?
Darl: Honest Dear, it's because of those Linux Hackers!
Mrs McB: And why did that woman think she was your wife?
Darl: That's not really loaded is it?

it's ok, i'm used to being moded as redundent without reason. i figure, it's /.
i did not realize that that i got FP!
Cool, it's my first.
I'm not looking to buy a car at the moment, but if i were it would definately influence my choice.
and yes, i'm looking for a local Autozone now too.
i have noticed that the knoppix CD will boot faster than my hardrive. even still i'm happy with it.
i'd been meaning to give one of the BSDs and other try. maybe nows the time.
good news.

ok mod me down for being redundent, but the opengroup really needs to standup and put a stop to SCO.
unix methods belong to them if anyone.
that's great to know that you've been able to hold MS and other closed venders accountable.
btw, how much did you get from MS for the down time from this past years viri?

this is great!
now we can build a giant machine to fix the hole in the ozone!
wait, they did that in the second Highlander movie and it caused other problems.
maybe not.
everyone has their own theory. Since the BBC has no proof either, here's mine.
It's a former Admin(or reseller) for SCO unixware. they are angry over TSG distroying their skill base.
just the other day i was telling someone about the old 2.0 kernels. how fast they booted. and halted firewalls.
keep up the good work.
it makes a difference.
