You are correct; No two people have an identical opinion in ride quality, and none have the ability (as far as I know) to quantify improvement. So, they fit the cars with devices which monitor travel of the body during test conditions and compare that to the travel on stock suspension.

60% improvement will be 60% reduction in body travel compared to stock mechanical suspension under test conditions using body travel as the metric (or some such).

During play time, children try on roles. Every second they spend "playing" a socially destructive role is a second wasted where their mind is not focused on making positive contributions to their environment.

I don't know about you, but during my play time as a kid I didn't have time to make positive contributions to the environment. I was far too busy being a tiger or a spaceship.

That's not how it works. A politician is not your employer, the government is. A politician has no hire-and-fire control over staff outside of politics, even if they have that power at all (which I wouldn't think they do).

Working in the public sector myself, though not politics, I have no problem telling my employer that they cannot have admin access to their local machine, and certainly not to the domain, unless they sign off that they accept that I am released from any and all responsibility under the Data Protection Act. If the choice at that point is breaking policy or losing my job, I choose losing the job. In the UK, it's up to £0.5m personal fines and 6 months in jail for data protection breaches. Fuck that.

My point is that in order to have a games console with the same functionality as a gaming PC, you need all of those devices. The console outputs at HD resolutions and are designed to be played from a distance of approx. 6', so you get an HDTV. You get 5.1 sound over HDMI and the TV speakers are tinny, so you get a speaker system. You can't record TV on a console, so you get a PVR. You can't do your work on a console, so you get a laptop.

I can do all of these things on my gaming PC, and it cost approximately the same. You don't need all of the items, but it's a comparison of functionality. That's all.

  24. Re:Boycott Sony! on Geohot Battles Back Against Sony · · Score: 1

Please, tell me how a gaming PC costs more than a console, a sound system, and an HDTV. Let's not get into how console games are on average 30% more expensive than their PC counterparts.

You can get a gaming PC (which you can work on) capable of a great experience at HD resolutions, including a screen, for £1000. You'll pay the same for a console, HDTV, sound system, PVR, and laptop / desktop work PC. It's just a matter of preference.
