Unobvious - like the patent for windowing! (determining the century a year belongs in by looking how close the year is to the current one)

Given a thousand years I wouldn't have thought of that myself

They obviously have low standards at the patent office ordinary skill; quite saying :)

I seem to remember that rpms do sometimes install shortcuts into my GNOME menu. So we have that allready.
And RPM's are actually easier than a windows install; You don't even have to tell the program where in the filesystem it should put itself. (Actually I don't even know where they go). It isn't neccesery.
This is how a userfriendly computer should be. And it is only on linux, not on windows:)

I fail to the why unix have to be hard to use. May I remind you that apple's OS/X will be a unix system, and you think that one will not be user friendly. There is no reason why linux couldn't become as easy as OS/X.
And remember that just because there is a user friendly upper layer does not mean that the hardcore inner layer have to be hidden. Linux would still be linux, it would just be usable for everybody.

For a great desktop with even greater promise. With applets, multiple pager windows and the ability to put in a good windows maneger I find it even better than the winXX one allready, which isn't bad at all.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next version, so keep up the good work!

Now someone please moderate those trolls down and lets have a civilized discussion

    • In the trial, the defendants no doubt can count on support from activist groups that have been seduced by the hackers' strange ideology, which equates copying and stealing softwarecode with free speech
I think this speaks for itself; if at least he would get ideolegy right...

    • The keys have only one real purpose: to allow a thief to open a locked door to steal the goods he targets.
