Property theft is on the rise in Waterloo region but to report a stolen lawn mower worth fifty dollars you have to go to the Head quarters conviently located out of town and spend almost 10 to twenty dollars in gas and waste about 2 hours of time, It takes a half hour for them to find the form. Software piracy is ignored by most police forces in Canada it took a huge amount of pressure on the Canadian and Ontario goverments to get the RCMP to presure the Toronto police to go to a flea market in Markham and shut down several vendors there who were selling pirate movies and software. If you phoned the BSA and asked them about piracy they would tell you that it is next to imposible to get the police in Canada to do anything. Consider that 30 women went missing from vancouver over 20 years and Robert pickton was caught by accidental discovery you get the idea how effective police are in Canada. I do not balme the Officers but the politicains and public attitude that is soft on crime in Canada.

As a self employed Computer Technician I am basically out of work because my conciense will not allow me to work on pirated software.
