It makes no difference either way. Bing is a search engine. I don't care if all it did was run your query over to Google and search on it and return the results with its own front.

Welcome to the internet, whiners. Anyone ever use aggregate search engines before? Chill out.

The idea that morality can only come from some higher power is absurd. As you can see from this very discussion, ideas of right and wrong are different in different societies. Obviously, morality is collectively determined by the society.

I am no longer a pirate of anything, but I used to be. My position was that if I can't afford something, but I can benefit enormously from acquiring it while no one is hurt by the "theft", I should certainly do so. Many software tools fell into this category. Now that I am a productive member of society, I do not pirate anything since I have the means to pay for it. However, to have lost that experience and learning made possible by the pirating could have drastically changed my status today.

The fact that there is this kind of money to be spent is rather dependent on the overwhelming power of the US military at this point.

As long as the US is The Superpower, their money will hold value no matter how much debt they go into.

Divert the funds into what you describe sure, but if it doesn't yield marketable results quickly, the US would end up in trouble.
