    That is a slight misconception. The similar movies result from script writers shopping their scripts to different studios. Every once in a while a producer will think "That's a great idea, but why pay this dude hundreds of thousands of dollars when I can have my own staff hack write a similar story for peanuts?"

    Columbus actually secured a pretty sizable percentage of the income from the New World for him and his descendants as part of his deal with the crown of Spain. Needless to say he and they didn't see a dime. Once he had set up the first colony, he didn't have any value.

    The same would happen to Lunar Industries Inc. They would build the first factory at great expense to the stockholders, and then Megacorp Inc would move in, "steal" the technology, and take over by sheer size.

    You wouldn't even need tethers, since there's little gravity out there. You could push the stuff off of the top of the earth elevator and have it drift over to the moon elevator. However, there is little incentive to build a moon elevator, since the escape velocity is so low.

    It was never about the engine though, was it? It was the stories/quests, the great 2D artwork, and all the hard work that went into those. Black Isle will be missed. Now there's only BioWare left.

    I can't believe you are buying that guy's bogus claims. He sent a letter to the UN, and having received no reply he sees that as tacit approval. Try sending a letter to the UN claiming that the whole world belongs to you, and see if you get a reply. He has absolutely zero legal legs to stand on.
